Indy's expansion partner Ottawa had a successful 2015, winning the fall season and making it to the championship game while Indy continued to languish near the bottom of the table. But Ottawa had a rough offseason, while Indy substantially revamped its roster, upgrading the quality and experience of the squad. Last week's season opener offered some hopeful signs but was also tentative and a bit disjointed; this week would be a good time to start seeing signs of genuine progress.
i hope you guys didn't pack away your parkas yet. it looks like we're in for quite the chilly evening.
Also, I had to buy an extra ticket today, I only looked at the section I will be sitting in, but if it is any indication it should be a sellout, or very near. There were only 4 seats left in the whole section, luckily two of them were in the same row. Just have to hope people will be willing to scoot down a seat.
Ottawa fan upset their team didn't look like last year's version when it comes to defending. Can't say I know enough about the Fury to compare, but from my vantage point Indy certainly didn't look threatening. Per usual.
With one goal in two games (and that coming on a last-minute scramble in front of goal), the team definitely needs more quality in attack. They've apparently signed Omar Gordon, a teammate of Dino Williams in Jamaica who has passed Williams to become the leading scorer in the Jamaican league. Maybe that will help. As a Liverpool fan, I'm cynical about signing forwards (Robbie Keane came to Liverpool and stopped scoring, Andy Carroll came to Liverpool and stopped scoring, Rickie Lambert came to Liverpool and stopped scoring, Christian Benteke came to Liverpool and stopped scoring ...).
