I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, sorry if this is old news. There's an interview with Ray Hudson in the Summer 2003 issue of SportsFan magazine, including a pretty nice photo of the rain-drenched Barra. There's also a preview of the Confederations Cup and an excerpt from Nick Hornby's 'Fever Pitch'. I was impressed at how knowledgable the interviewer was, the associate editor who I assume is a mainstream sports guy. He brought up Hudson's career at Newcastle and promotion/relegation issues. Kudos. Their webpage is www.sportsfanmagazine.com but the newest issue isn't available there. You can pick up a copy at Summer's and probably a lot of other places around.
Re: Re: SportsFan magazine article It should probably be required reading for the whole world. Has a better book about soccer fandom ever been written?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: SportsFan magazine article Oh believe me, I understand it perfectly. It's no more a book about soccer than "The Old Man and the Sea" is about fishing. Sachin
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: SportsFan magazine article I thought The Old Man And The Sea was about baseball.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: SportsFan magazine article A lot of people think it's about crap like finding the courage to overcome the tragedies of life...the triumph of man even in failure, and other such nonsense, so it's refreshing to find someone else who realizes that it indeed is about baseball.
