i do this only because everyone says espn does nothing for soccer... just saw some highlights from the game... showed magee's one time killer (and replay)... plus a brian west shot and clearance off the line please feel free to bash them for not showing the entire game in their replay
So they started showing something now in SC, ay? Perhaps they are starting to feel the heat! Then maybe we should start thanking all the "whiners" here and FSW, as I'm sure they have something to do with it.
I must say though Jim, quite an impressive collection of links to the sports media you have created in your "GuestBook" page. I'm sure putting together this extensive list must have taken a good portion of your time. Great job!!
While they may have shown it on the SportsCenter you were watching, they didn't show anything on the 1AM. When we can get highlights on that episode then we can stop whining.
i work on it here and there... so it doesn't take tons of time... just a few minutes every now and then i just hope it is of some use for people
Dumb comment. If you know anything about SportsCenter you should know that the 1AM SportsCenter is re-played throughout the morning and into the afternoon. So it actually is the one that gets the ratings.
Funny how they don't put their best anchors on that one, then. Actually, the Sportscenter that "gets the ratings" is the Sunday 11pm "Sportscast of Record". That's their highest-rated show of the week, and I'd be skeptical if the getting-ready-for-work and unemployed morning repeat watchers create a composite audience that's fantastically large. They repeat it because it's cheaper than programming something else. People do watch it, don't get me wrong, but it's not their highest-rated show of the week. And the Sunday 1am doesn't get repeated for very long - they do all-new ones on Sunday mornings.
I am essentially watching that episode when I'm getting ready for work in the morning, but it's on for a big four minutes, while I'm doing something else. Since I'm unlikely to absorb too many commercial messages under those circumstances, I doubt it's an advertising bonanza, either.
sportscenter(s) of various stripes have often shown one or two highlights of a game from time to time so i'm not sure why this might even be considered a big deal, one way or another. still, i'm glad they did it yesterday.
My favorite part of the sportscenter clip was that lady introducing the goal by "Mike Maggie." Holy jesus, is it really that hard to say Magee?
