This is right on the money. Hubris will eventually sink MLS if changes are not forthcoming. Making up the rules as you go along, coupled with relocating franchises, is a losing formula, especially when your league's strongest selling card is that it is supposed to be an alternative to the corporatism of other North American sports leagues.
Well this is more about sports psychology, but I wanted to share this outstanding article about 33 yo Per Mertesacker and what appears to be a lifelong struggle with anxiety. http://www.spiegel.de/international...out-exit-from-arsenal-football-a-1198260.html
Here's a Jun-2018 NYTimes article summarizing a recent study that showed cognitive deficits in children after heading the ball https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/19/well/heading-soccer-ball-children-kids-concussion-brain.html
I couldn't find the other posts about bone broth recipes. But I finally tried to make bone broth again, this time in an instant pot, and it sort of worked! I had bought a rotisserie chicken at costco, so i put the bones in the instant pot, covered with chicken stock, leftover sake, and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, onion, garlic. Cooked on high for 30 mins, but bones were brittle or soft but not dissolved. Some marrow was still intact in the bones. I guess I should have mashed them at that point, but instead i just cooked it for another 30 mins and then strained out everything. Then I made lentil soup out of it, which came out really good. It was an interesting exercise in dissolving bones.
Haven't heard from our bone broth connoisseur, KMJvet, in quite a while, but you might try DMing. It's not something I'd normally be interested as an "almost vegetarian", but due to a recently developed health condition I might be interested now.
In ever-timely fashion, I was just sent a link to this new movie: https://variety.com/2022/film/news/...mothee-chalamet-bisexual-cannibal-1235337951/ Um, uh, yeah no.
Hey @JazzyJ are you OK? Need anything from your fellow BSers? I don’t have any more questions about bone broth, as the instant pot was the key for me. I had used a slow cooker before.
I'm OK, thanks! It's an arthritis thing, nothing serious. That's why bone broth is of interest to me now.
I take turmeric and glucosamine everyday for my arthritis, and it seems to be beneficial. Also I use Competitive Edge PT, who also service the Quakes. That PT office is terrific, recommend highly for anyone who wants to stay active.
I was going to suggest turmeric (curcumin) and also boswellia. Omega 3. Lots of supplements out there -- worth trying a few before hitting the harder stuff.
I'm doing more or less all that stuff but it's the autoimmune type vs. the osteo type unfortunately, so hard to avoid the hard stuff.
Oh, very sorry to hear that, Jazzy. I guess if bone broth is anti-inflammatory, then you should give it a shot as long as it is low or no sodium.
