Too bad the author didn't really do his homework on the vd Vaart case. He's not leaving, get that through your thick skull. I hope the same for Ibrahimovic who still has many things to learn before being ready for the big leagues. ------------------------------------------------- Ajax unmatched http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/inside_game/gabriele_marcotti/news/2003/02/20/marcotti_insider/
I'm a bit sick so I don't really feel like writing a long story at the moment. Maybe I'll start writing today. Maybe I'll wait till I feel better. There's not even that much to write about this time as we weren't allowed to do that much. But there will be one, that's for sure.
I think van der Vaart will be gone when the next season ends; "en zegde en passant toe dat hij in ieder geval tot medio 2004 bij de Amsterdamse club zal blijven". Not a bad run I guess, almost 4 years of playing for the first team. At least if he goes Ajax will be able to cash in on him.
Pretty dumb move by Ajax if you ask me. He should be guaranteed for two seasons. You need people to build your team around. With vd Vaart gone after next season (probably accompanied by Zlatan and vd Meyde) what are we going to do? Start all over again. Ajax shoudl stop whining about salaries and start selling smarter. No use in building something you'll never finish.
Saw an article in the Antwerpp gazette today too. Europe is talking about us again. But even if they weren't, at least we know what they're worth.
