After yesterdays Sporting Lisbon fan reaction they have decided to play Sporting Lisbons last game vs Guimaraes with close doors according to Maisfutebol.com. Can i bring up a point here this stadium in Guinares has been a disaster since it opened up. 1 ) Portugal lost 3- 0 to Spain. 2) The Benfica player dies on the field. 3) Fans Rioting during the Boavista game. Some one call a priest to bless this stadium.

Guimaraes stadium will be closed to fans because of the Vitoria Guimaraes fans throwing rocks into the Pacos de Ferreira stadium a few weeks ago after Pacos de Ferreira scored a goal. Avalade will be suspended one or two games (probably for next season) because of the sporting claque running onto the field.

I don't agree for players playing on empty stadiums, I can see the game be playing on a neutral stadium, but never on a empty stadium, football was made to be played in front of crowds, and Guimaraes could easily had 20,000 in the last game.

    Frank,
Normally I would agree with you on this point but seeing what happened at Alvalade on Sunday, what has happened in Guimaraes all year, and what happened at San Siro in Italy with the AS Roma fans throwing flares onto the field and nearly causing serious injury to AC Milan players, AS Roma players and the referee, I think that safety is more important. If you play on a neutral site, such as Braga or Coimbra, you still have the same idiot fans that will cause problems travelling to the game. There is something to be said for the unique passion that football brings, but violence is not acceptable.

Still, I just figure that there would be people crowding outside the stadium just to find out what's happening even if they can't get in. Maybe somebody would bring a CIA-type listening device to hear what's going on. LOL

Superliga come to there senses, doors will be open for the game, and its expect a sellout in Guimaraes, around 30,000 ,
