And... back to work. DC is 4 points back with 2 games in hand, so this is very much a six pointer.

D.C. UNITED -- OUT: MF Lance Rozeboom (L knee ACL tear); DF Robbie Russell (L plantar fasciitis); DF Daniel Woolard (concussion-like symptoms); PROBABLE: FW Dwayne De Rosario (L shoulder soreness)

SPORTING KANSAS CITY -- OUT: DF Cyprian Hedrick (L fibula fracture); GK Jon Kempin (R ankle fracture); QUESTIONABLE: MF Peterson Joseph (L hamstring strain); DF Chance Myers (R groin strain); FW Jacob Peterson (R shoulder sprain); FW C.J. Sapong (R hip flexor strain); PROBABLE: DF Lawrence Olum (L groin strain)

Will be nice to see Collin back. Do we rest Myers after 120+ minutes Wednesday?

Wow, this is coming up quick. Sure glad it's at home, traveling after the cup win would have been cruel.

Depending on how bad Sinovic's knock was will determine whether Myers or Harrington starts. If Seth is good to go, Myers might rest and let Mikey have the start.

Does that injury list take into account the cup game? Surprised not to see Convey and Sinovic on the list. And while Sapong may be questionable to start, I don't think it's a question whether he'll get some minutes at some point during this game.

Starting lineup is anyone's guess. No one knows except Vermes and the players how they will feel until game time. The good thing is, we actually have some decent depth and they've all been getting some good minutes lately. I'm just glad Cesar is starting again. We are a different team with him out there.

One might be tempted to say that we will have a post-cup let down, BUT... don't forget Collin. He is going to be itching and hyped to play after missing the final, and the defense is going to be a brick wall again.

We are finally going to break out of our goalscoring drought. DCU plays an open style and we will get opportunities. At least 2-0 to the good guys, maybe even 3.

i just grabbed the injury list off the MLSS site. no idea if it takes seth's injury into account yet or not. or if nags'll sit a game to let his face heal up. or how roger's shoulder's doing. etc. i think we started some guys for the final we wouldn't have started if we were playing seattle in a league match. team doctor's probably had a pretty busy day today.

if we go back to a 4-3-3 with zusi in the middle 3, i wouldn't be too surprised to see saad start as an outside forward, with peterson and sapong still banged up.

i expect chance and espinoza to be on the bench, and i'd side more with roger being out completely. collin should be back in with besler in the middle, and i wouldn't be surprised to see olum as our rb with harrington on the left. sinovic having to be carried around is not an indication that a couple days can heal what ails him.

Roger needs to rest, what a beast he is for playing 120+ after just getting back from England and his monster performance against Brazil.

Hate to throw out the cliches, but this is a must win game, and this needs to be a statement game. We're on a dilapidated run of form at home lately and now is the time to pick that up so we can make a push for more hardware. The lineups will be interesting after such a long game on Wednesday, but we really need to find a way to get three points out of this one. The 17 games in 56 days are coming to a close tomorrow.

Im getting a Luke Sass', er, I mean, a Michael Thomas feeling for this one.

Also, if Seth is on the injured list, anyone been out to practice lately: what about Markovic? He looked energized after the USOC Final.

Convey good to go? A "rested" Collin and Convey might be a silver lining from the USOC win.

I forgot about Markovic. I would actually love to see him out there for this game. He was fired up Wednesday, seems like another Collin in the making. So here's my preference with expected injuries and rest:

    ---Convey---Bunbury---Kamara---
    -----------------Zusi-----------------
    -------Nagamura----Cesar----------
    -Markovic--Besler--Collin--Harrington-

I... don't hate that. Maybe CJ instead of Teal?

Maybe. But Teal has been playing well, and CJ is still on the "questionable" list. We'll see once it gets updated. If CJ is off the list, maybe start him and give Teal a rest.

Seth will sit. He probably won't even dress. When a player is carried off the field, they probably won't be in uniform three days later.

Jacob Peterson was also dressed but did not play, so we could see him as well.

How could I forget about Peterson!? I'm feeling better already.

Actually, I've been feeling pretty great for 48 hours, so feeling good levels are nearing an all time high.

This looks reasonable, but I would not be surprised by any or all of the following adjustments, especially given who played 120 minutes Wednesday night and then presumably spent several hours celebrating afterward:
    • Peterson or Saad in place of Convey, after what happened at New England.
    • Sapong in place of Bunbury or Kamara.
    • Saad in place of Zusi, since he looked pretty decent in the AM role against Stoke City.
    • Joseph and Thomas in place of Nagamura and Cesar.
    • Markovic in Besler's spot, with Aiyegbusi at left back.
    • Kronberg in goal, rather than Nielsen.

I predict we will have Collin and 10 other men start the game. ;)

That's about as far as I can go given PV, our injuries, and our recent schedule.

Tonight's updated injury report lists Hedrick, Kempin, and Peterson as out; Convey, Joseph, Olum, and Sinovic as questionable; and Sapong as probable. For DC: Rozeboom, Russell, Woolard, Santos, and Salihi are out; and De Rosario is doubtful.

I would not be surprised to see Kamara get a rest. They've been running him ragged and he is starting to show the wear. Maybe he subs in late if the situation calls for it.

Really? I honestly wouldn't mind Kronberg getting a start or two here. He did stellar in the two friendlies we had.
