Hey look at that we play again. Crew in town. They beat Stoke yesterday. They did beat DC last weekend though.

If we don't score by the 42nd minute we tie a team record for longest home goal drought with the 98-99 Wizards...

(For those of you that weren't around then, we sucked)

Gotta think this drought will end soon....right? I mean it did RAIN last night, so logical reasoning would deduce such that our home scoring drought will end this week too. Right? Still, it couldn't hurt for the tailgaters to do a rain dance in th parking lot before the game to help things out.

It's been sooooo long since we scored at home, the confetti cannons will probably backfire.

Gotta wonder what Collin's status will be for this one. Hopefully he doesn't need any surgery on his pretty face. If he can't go, let's hope that Olum is near fitness and maybe Cesar will get back into the lineup to help cover the middle. Let's hope Chance can get back in the lineup as well. I just don't feel as confident with Harrington in there.

The last time we scored at home was against the Dayton Dutch Lions. The last time we scored at home in league play was Cesar's corner kick blast against Toronto FC.

I would expect AC to be out for this one, but I think he could be back soon. He'll have to probably wear one of those clear face protectors for a little while. Per his Facebook, he has a "facial fracture."

Yes the last league goal was Cesar vs TFC, 325 minutes ago in league play.

So is Collin out after the injury he took last night in the All-star game?

"Fracture" has a lot of different meanings. Collin saying he's fine makes me think it's a hairline fracture or something that can be fairly easily managed. At this point, I think the most anyone could say about Saturday is he's questionable.

610 Sports just confirmed on air that Collin will be out 1-2 weeks.

Edit: Or I guess the giant headline on SKC's website confirms that now, too.

You keep saying this as if it wasn't Collin's retarded American football tackle from behind that got him hurt...

    Olum
    if
    A) there was no stupid all star for him to go to he wouldn't have gotten hurt, based on our lineup tuesday he wasn't gonna play vs Montpellier.

    B) if Sporting fans hadn't stuffed the ballot there's a chance he wouldn't have been in the 18.

Yes the injury is Collin's own fault, but if there's no stupid all star game there's no chance of him making that stupid challenge.

Well, I guess that is why american football tackles should be left to american football players who wear american football helmets. I really have no idea what his intentions were going into that "challenge."

With Collin out, and possibly/probably Chance, I have a feeling CBus will be putting something in the net. So we darn well better break our goalless streak.

I really hope PV puts Cesar back in to help out on defense. I don't feel as confident with Nagamura in there as a DM. Our starting XI is once again going to be an interesting piece of patchwork. We have a few guys who will need to step up (Convey, Olum) that probably still aren't fully fit.

it looked like he had taken his eye off of essien for just a moment as he was chasing him down and then didn't notice that essien had stopped. just like when you're driving and you glance down at the radio only for the car in front of you to slam on their brakes. bam, broken grill.

i agree with buzz ... stupid all-star game.

Olum and Besler, Zusi Cesar Nagamura. And hopefully Meyers. That's what I would prefer. Cesar can help protect the Olum-Besler tandem. Plus they will be playing together for the USOC. And it was a stupid all star game (what's with the trophies) and I hate f**king. Chelsea. (says Arsenal fan)

    Meh.

All this boils down to is I like the the All-Star game and calling it the "stupid All-Star game" gets my panties in a twist.

    Carry on.

I'm more confident in Besler/Olum than I am with Collin/Olum. I think Matty Ice will adapt to playing alongside Olum better than Collin did.

I wouldn't mind Markovic getting some minutes to help ease him in some more too. Liked what I saw on Tuesday night.

All All-Star games are stupid. It's why the NFL is doing away with the Pro Bowl. You can still name all-stars, but the business of sports has so much money tied up in it there's no reason to subject your players to possible injury. I believe "friendlies" between large clubs is a fad a will die out in a few years. You can't have players who make millions of dollars slide tackling players who make a millions of dollars in a non-meaningful match. There's just no sense in it.

Which, by the way, say what you will about football or the NFL, but most sports around the world are starting to follow the NFL's model in a lot of areas. When they cut out the Pro Bowl and eventually the preseason, mostly all together, watch other major leagues make reductions as well. ESPECIALLY to training. Which, EPL teams who have an 8 week off season don't need to train abroad and play all these unneccessary matches.

Yeah. I've always hated All-Star games in general but for some reason I like the MLS ASG. I guess it has to do with the best of MLS taking on a big EPL club. If it was strictly East vs. West, I wouldn't think much of it at all. I do agree with pretty much everything you are saying, though.

I wrote that while I was drunk last night. I'm just glad I made any sense whatsoever. :)

I think outside of the NHL All-Star game, the MLS All-Star game is by-far the most entertaining (usually). NFL and MLB All-Star games are a joke, and the NBA All-Star game just looks like a McDonald's All-American game for older players, which I don't find all that exciting. Point being, if they are going to continue to have the MLS All-Star game, I'll continue to watch. But it's always this weird conflict with me because as much I might enjoy the action on the field, I hate the whole premise.

Some news on who might see on the other side of the ball.

Here's what I think we might see on our side:
    Convey-CJ/Teal-Kei
    Peterson-Cesar-Zusi
    Sinovic-Besler-Olum-Harrington
    Puma
I am being hopeful that we see Cesar with Olum in there, but he may still be in the DH. I can't figure that one out, and if having a less experienced starting CB doesn't get Cesar on the field, I don't know what will other than an injury to Nagamura.

Agreed, but I cannot hate the ASG to much because it could have happened at practice, or while playing around, or even a slip and fall at home.

I hope we rest some vets, give some new blood a chance, cause I am hoping for the Open Cup. I also want to see Cesar again, Zusi needs to pass sooner, and Teal needs to start believing in himself again like EJ. Oh and Vermes could use more subs.
