This was one thing I wondered about VAR. in the instance of a bad offside call can it be used? Clearly not. But even if it could how would they inplement that? Players give up on the play when it’s offside. The whistle went before the shot was made. How do you correct that? Free kick? Penalty?

Agreed. In a way I’ve been a little disappointed with Doumbia’s production off the bench, but the guy routinely gets less than a couple minutes to do anything in a game as a sub.
