A beautiful goal from Gelson Martins gave us the win against the home side (New Zeland). We'll face Brazil next for the quarter-finals.

Pedro Empis has signed a new deal with the club until 2019 and a 45M euro release clause. He will likely join the B team this season, and he was called up to the U-19 national team:
He's the best left back we've had in our Academy I can remember, ahead of Mica Pinto and André Marques, who were both very good in the youth levels but never really made it in senior football. I'm hoping Empis will be our first home grown left back to make in the first team in decades.
I'm hoping in a year he can replace Jefferson who seems to be on the decline and he can get some 1st team action.
That sounds a bit wishful. He's very talented but he's also very small, I think he'll take at least two seasons to get used to senior football.
And here watching the u15s training: Os iniciados têm um espectador muito atento hoje! 😎💚 #EricCantona pic.twitter.com/CSh9GTtLKC— Sporting CP (@SportingCP) August 19, 2016 There are loads of French moving here these days.
Portugal has a very competitive tax policy for foreign European citizens, and France taxes are very heavy. It's the race to the bottom.
Apparently he took his youngest son, Émir, who is 6 or 7 years old to a Sporting game and a Benfica game and let him choose for which team he wanted to play, he picked us and is apparently joining our youth ranks.
I haven't watched much football since the euros and did not even know about this kid, but judging by that video and it begrudges me to make statements on players based on YouTube highlights but his inventive finishing is like nothing I've seen from any striker for a long time. Very interesting prospect
So was Podence so was Betinho blah blah blah. P. S. It'd be cool if this dude was the real deal though
