Man united is going to get mangled thats all I gotta say.

Veloso and polga will stop them all.

This is a good time to face them, they arent at their best ... rooney is just coming back from injury and Cristiano Ronaldo hasn't gotten into his stride yet.

Sporting players are still pretty familiar with Nani, so I think he will struggle.

Sporting must defend the set plays well if they want to get a result. Set plays is the only way Man united scores as of late, they are dangerous.

Our Goalie looks like a goofball in setplays, thats the main thing that worries me.

Sporting will win 1-0 with a goal from Simon Vukevic.

MU junior squad also made the trip to Lisbon, and will be playing Sporting's juniors, at 10 AM in Estadio Universitario.

Sporting should play for the win, this is a tough group and By the time we visit Old Trafford, Man utd will likely be in better form and be alot tougher to defeat.

AS Roma looks impressive so far in their Serie A season so every point will be valuable.

On top of that we also got Shakter - this is a tough group.

As mentioned above Man U haven't hit their stride yet so this is a good time to play them. I am hoping for a 0-0 draw or 1-0 win.

Anything else would be icing on the cake!:p

We brought in Izmailov and Vuckcevic for these games, hope they can strut their stuff.

I won't make it home in time to watch it, so I am PVRing the match and watching it live at the bar instead. So, is anyone that is from the Toronto area going to the Sporting filial on Dupont St. to watch this match?

This is going to be an enjoyable game I think, Definantly my two Favourite teams. From you guys I'm hoping Moutinho will do well, really like the guy and hoping he can regain some confidence and form after a few not so great performances for the NT

Hoping for a good game and a Utd win. We don't look like conceding these days but neither can we score except on set-pieces so should be a tight one unless if you attack from the start. I do hope that the game is not spoilt by diving and time-wasting from either side.

    Same here.

Don't take those NT games as any measuring stick for Moutinho abilities.
He's a player that sets the tempo, and needs to be on the pitch from the opening whistle. He had a spectacular game this past weekend against probably the tallest defensive team in our league.
Don't be surprised if he's the next one to move to MU, would be great for him to fill in for Scholes.

He seemed to have a spectacular Run for Sporting last year especially for Such a young Player, to play that many games in a row and to play well is a sign of his talent I think. I just hope more so that his confidence isnt knocked from the NT matches as Confidence is very important to young players. One of the reasons Ronaldo does so well i feel.

Just a brief note that the Sporting Juniors beat the Manchester United Academy Team 5-2. (It was 4-0 at halftime then SCP took the foot off the pedal)

Just so there are no doubts as to which club has the best Academy.

Hopefully the A team can match this performance.

I understand Paulo Bento keeping Vukcevic on the bench.

Hes a major impact player when he comes on, and i doubt Romangoli could have the same effect.

Still, I'd rather vukcevic start from the beggining of the match..

So much quality to his game, and i think if you grab the first goal djalos and liedsons pace with velosos and moutinhos superb vision and passing range can beat them on the counter.

But uniteds wingplay will reak havoc for your fullbacks..ronny especially.

Abel is often overlooked and is a "very good" outside back. Ronny is obviously better suited for the offensive game so look for Man U to try and expose him early. United's defense doesn't frighten me, and if Liedson and Djalo can get loose with their constant movement...then look out.

SCP's strength is their ability to move the ball around and get it to their forwards.

This game will be tighter then most English fans will want to believe. Particularly if Moutinho is on his game from the start.

Polga has been playing magnificently and Tonel is solid.

I believe Man U's better chances will come from Set plays.

SCP game both Inter and Bayern good runs at their places and stifled them both at Alvalade, so I expect the same today.

0-0 HT. ok so sporting is playing well, perhaps better than man u. defense is playing well and so is just about everyone, even though yannick is a little soft.
