It was during Winter Break, not sure if the Sporting game was around that time, but I don't think it was even close to being so.

After a home win against Desportivo das Aves and an away win against Freamunde we are in third and if we beat Penafiel at home on Sunday I'm confident we're in the top 2 and hopefully won't let go until the promotion to the Bwin Liga is secured.:D

You have to do better than just beat my hometown team of Avanca (3-2) in a friendly game! :D

    We beat Penafiel! :D

    1 - 0
Maurinho scored in the 2nd half.

So far we have scored in all our official games this season. Lost the first 1-5 and won 5 games with the minimal difference: 1-0 (3 Liga Vitalis games + 2 League Cup games)

We have not yet produced one single convincing game. All pretty boring stuff so far. We are now in 2nd place together with Estoril, 9 points but Beiramar has a -1 goal difference. And from what I've read and heard this afternoon the Estoril-Freamunde was a killer comeback from 0-2 down by Estoril. Also Santa Clara did a good game, twice they managed to draw the game (ended 2-2). So I suppose they are well seated in 1st and 2nd place.

Jesse and Primo were 2 new players that were pitched today. They didn't do the pre-season so need a bit more time to adjust. I'm confident Beiramar will pick up the pace and start turning in some good quality matches.

With player's salaries in arrears, Beira-Mar may be prevented from registering in the Liga Vitalis for 08-09 season

Brazilian Cristiano Formiga returns for his second spell at Aveiro, transfering in from a Vietnamese club.

    A long overdue update:

Mano Nunes has taken over as President of the club and instilled Antonio Sousa, while registering the team for Liga Vitalis.

Fary, Palatsi, Ricardo Sousa, Cristiano, Levato, and Rui Dolores, players who all played under Antonio Sousa early in the 2000s have all returned to the club in the off-season.

Rui Sampaio was also picked up by Antonio Sousa, having played in his youth team at Penafiel. He's showing some promise in the off-season in front of goal.

Oh come on it hasn't been that long since they were in the Liga that you can confuse them for a district club.

They have a nice stadium to bad it is too big and too far from Aveiro.
