I know the previous sponsor thread was closed, but I believe this 'foreign automaker' that Goff speaks of is Volkswagen. If only for the simple reason that they are moving their entire VW USA corporate headquarters to Herndon, VA. Sponsoring a very European thing (a soccer team), would seem to help their image as a classy, cheaper alternative to European luxury. Also, as a simple way to let people know that VW is now so close to them...

VW also sponsors Wolfsburg in Germany.

    Makes sense.

Then again, why not Volvo? It's "for life!"

Well, now that we have Niell on the team, it should be a cinch to get sponsorship from the Cooper Mini.

    P.S. There's no shot like a cheap shot. ;)

That likelihood was discussed in the earlier thread as well. Has anything happened on this front recently?

Why must you all tease me with old news of sponsorship?

Seriously. It took longer for people on here to know that Roy Lassiter was the "player to be named" for Chris Albright.

Here I was thinking this would actually be real new information....

Wake me up when there's actually something to report.
