So Aberdeen finish on one more point than we did when we finished bottom of the league in 1999/00 (and we had two extra games this season, too), and have John Lambie's decision to go and play with his pidgeons as the probable reason why we didn't finish bottom this year.
If Inverness Caley decide to go ahead with a groundsharing option with us and get promoted to the SPL, then the signs seem to suggest that Aberdeen would be the recognised worst side in the league... managed by someone who doesn't really appear to have what it takes to cut it in the SPL.

So, happy times ahead for 2005 then...

Heart of Midlothian Today's 3-2 win over Motherwell saw Hearts end the season on a high with just one defeat (at Partick of all places) in 18 games and four victories on the bounce.

Despite all this, 2003/04 failed to live up to last season. We actually lost to Hibs this year and got a few doings from the Old Firm. But we also had the return of European football and a superb victory in Bordeaux. But IMO Levein bottled the tactics in the return game as we tumbled out to a side that went on to the quarter finals.

November saw 6 straight wins, December saw 4 straight defeats as the Old Firm pulled clear.

But since then Hearts have been playing well and still winning when we don't - a sign of a good team... or a lucky one?

The season ended with 4 unbeaten games against Celtic and Rangers. Against the champions: 2-2 at Celtic Park, 1-1 three weeks later at Tynecastle. While against Rangers, a 1-1 at Tynecastle and then just last Wednesday night a 1-0 win at Ibrox.

So a result at least to remember this season by. 3rd place for the Jambos. 3rd place for the 3rd time in 5 years but with Kirk, Severin and Boyak leaving plus continuing questions over Tynecastle will it be 4 in 6 years?

Aberdeen - Utter rubbish. 1st Division manager. 1st Division players. 1st Division board. Increasingly looking like 1st Division fans.

Still with the signing of "talent" like Craig and Adams next year can only see us get worse.

Glad I won't have to watch it.

Rangers - Simply not good enough. Its make or break time for Alex. I think he has until Christmas and if there is not a vast improvement he will be gone. Sill season has started already with the amount of players we have been linked with. Still think we need another striker and a quality midfield player.

Hopefuly if Rangers can get a couple of million for Ricksen, Arteta, Moore, and as we have to pay Everton £500,000 if he makes one more apperance, Michael Ball, we will be able to buy a quality midlfielder and a new left back as Ball has not proved his price.

    GK - KLOS
    LB - ?
RB - KISHNESHVELI (I'm sure that's not how you spell it)
    CB - BOUMSONG
    CB - ANDREWS
    LM - LOVENKRANDS
    RM - BURKE
    CM - ?
    CM - ARVELADZE
    CF - P'RSO
    CF - THOMPSON

My first year to follow the SPL and for whatever reason I chose Hearts to support. Pretty good season all in all. Looking forward to keeping closer tabs on them next year. Interested to see who goes and who stays.

I am also very interested in the Tynecastle situation. From an outsider's veiwpoint, it seems best to move away from the grand old stadium. I know the locals don't like the idea of playing at Murrayfield [spelling?], but what is best for the club? Get the finances fixed and either remodel Tynecastle or build a new Tynecastle. [A good example of getting things fixed and worked out would be Charlton Athletic. They did a groundshare and took to the time to build up finances to refurbish The Valley. They drew in help of the local fans to clean up the old place and start anew. Now look at club and grounds!]

    Let's go Jambos!
