Can someone spell out the scenarios for us members for the results and playoff possibilities for just the Revs..... along with the seeds.... The MLSnet site permutations give me a headache.....

I'll give it a shot and others can correct any mistakes or omissions.

    Let's take this chronologically...

    Tonight: Dallas at DC
This one is meaningless to the Revs since they hold the tie-breaker with DC. DC must win to keep their chances alive, but they also need us to beat the Mutts since they hold that tie-breaker. The Revs can be in the playoffs with DC or without. Dallas, of course, is already in.

    Friday: KC at Colorado
Colorado is already in. A win puts KC in but does not knock the Revs out. If they draw, then the Revs need a win to knock KC out (KC holds the tie-breaker with the Revs). If KC loses then a draw will be sufficient on Saturday to put the Revs in the playoffs (Revs 36 pts. KC and DC both with 35)

    Saturday: LA at SJ
Completely irrelevant to all things Rev.

    Saturday: Mutts at Revs
A win assures the playoffs. A draw may clinch it on Saturday with a KC loss on Friday or a Chicago loss or draw on Sunday. A draw knocks out DC and puts the Mutts in. A loss means scoreboard watching on Sunday.

    Sunday: Columbus at Chicago
If the Revs lose, Chicago knocks them out with a draw. If the Revs draw then Chicago must win to knock out the Revs.

And of course the most surprising permutation is a Revs win coupled with a Columbus loss and the Revs win the East with home field advantage assured for every series (MLS cup included!)

    Seedings...

LA and San Jose will both be either #1 or #3 depending on match outcome.

Dallas and Colorado will be either #4 or #5.

Revs would be #2 seed if they win and Columbus loses.

    CLB/KC/MET - if all have 38 pts
    - CLB gets #2 seed
-MET hold tiebreak over KC (head-to-head, 1-0-1) for #6 seed
    -KC secures #7 seed

    CLB/KC/NE - if all have 38 pts
    - NE holds over CLB for #2 seed
    - CLB holds tiebreak over KC (head-to-head, 1-0-1) for #6 seed
    -KC secures #7 seed

    KC/MET/NE - if all have 36 pts
MET have tiebreak over NE and KC = MET #6
KC has tiebreaker over NE = KC #7
NE #8 with Chicago draw or loss

    CHI/KC/MET - if all have 35 pts
    CHI #7
MEt have tiebreak over KC = #8
    KC out

    CHI/KC/NE - if all have 35 pts
    KC #7
KC has tiebreak over NE = #8
    NE out

I think i have that right. Feel free to correct me. I'm starting to confuse myself. :)

    If the Revs win:

#2 seed: If Columbus loses on Sunday.

#6 seed: If Kansas City loses or draws tonight and Columbus wins or draws on Sunday.

#7 seed: If Kansas City wins tonight and Columbus wins or draws on Sunday.

    If the Revs draw:

#7 seed: If Kansas City loses tonight and Chicago loses or draws on Sunday.

#8 seed: If Kansas City wins or draws tonight and Chicago loses or draws on Sunday, OR if Kansas City loses tonight and Chicago wins on Sunday.

Out of playoffs: If Kansas City wins or draws tonight and Chicago wins on Sunday.

    If the Revs lose:

#8 seed: If Chicago loses on Sunday.

Out of playoffs: If Chicago wins or draws on Sunday.

    Update

    What we know:
    KC is in
    DC is out
2 spots left, 3 teams - Revs, Mutts, Chi

    Revs win
Simple, they win, they're in. This makes scoreboard watching tomorrow the difference between #2 seed (Chi win) and #6 seed (Columbus win or draw). PLUS, if Chi wins or draws the Mutts are out.

    Revs draw or lose
Then it's scoreboard watching time and Chicago must lose and the Revs squeak in at the #8 seed.

I don't believe there are other permutations, but I have been know to be wrong before ;)

Or taking this one step further...

    If the Revs Win:

And Chicago Loses: Revs would be the #6 seed, and face either Los Angeles or San Jose in the first round.

And Chicago Draws: Revs would be the #6 seed, and face either Los Angeles or San Jose in the first round.

And Chicago Wins: Revs would be the #2 seed, and face Chicago in the first round.

    If the Revs Draw:

And Chicago Loses: Revs would be the #8 seed, and would face either Los Angeles or San Jose in the first round.

And Chicago Draws: Revs would be the #8 seed, and would face either Los Angeles or San Jose in the first round.

And Chicago Wins: Revs would be knocked out of the playoffs by virtue of losing the head-to-head tiebreaker with the MetroStars.

    If the Revs Lose:

And Chicago Loses: Revs would be the #8 seed and would face either Los Angeles or San Jose in the first round.

And Chicago Draws: Revs would be knocked out of the playoffs by virtue of losing the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Fire.

And Chicago Wins: Revs would be out of the playoffs.
