an interesting view point on the latest transfers: http://thinkfootball.co.uk/tactical...-js-large&utm_medium=fbshare.me-facebook-post and an explanation why we didn't get moutinho: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/sep/04/tottenham-hotspur-joao-moutinho
Wow... I really can't believe you feel that way, I don't know why everyone is down on Klinsy, he is amazing and we are getting better every day. I hope he lasts and I can't wait to see Holden in our squad. He is a massive upgrade from Torres and is basically the most important player on the field
If you're playing an AVB high line surely having the most conservative (and elderly) keeper in the league as your steady starter is not the best idea?
Based on the evidence to date Friedel’s seems like a fine idea. I’m not wholly opposed to a new goal keeper or a staunch Friedel supporter. Given we had 3 goal keepers, but only two strikers and no creative midfield replacement for Modric or VdV signing a 4th keeper should have been low on the list of priorities.
Maybe if we didn't leave it to the very last flipping moment, we could have resolved this issue in time. I know, crazy talk.
LOL. Levy's a part owner...so the only way to get rid of him is to buy the team outright and fire him
I've got a bigger issue with the 3rd party ownership. If UEFA is about transparancy in fianances, one of the things they need to do is elminate 3rd party ownership. This has been a problem with several players, the latest being Moutinho.
How sure are you that Levy left it to the last flipping moment? Levy isn't the only one who uses brinksmanship as a negotiation tactic.
More transfer activity in the Russian market -- Bentley on loan to Rostov until January. I'm amazed, but still good news.
and did we ever get any empirical evidence that the poles didn't provoke germany in september of '39. alot of people are jumping to conclusions around here. let's wait for the facts. i appreciate where you're coming from, here, balance ... but i'm not sure that's a winning hand. it's his phooking modus operandi, for phook's sake.
Levy would love to have signed Moutinho (and others we've actually signed) early in the transfer window. Problem is Porto wanted £31m for him then. Only way we had a chance to sign him was to move towards the end when Porto get desperate. It's the only way Levy can sign us top quality players as we're operating above our financial means. Same happened with Rafael van der Vaart, Real Madrid wanted £18m and tried making a deal with Bayern Munchen, that deal collapsed and we swooped in with 8m when Real had no other options
