I know it's November and the draft can change things, but I want to speculate anyway. Same personnel for either formation.

    3-5-2
    Meola (GK)
    Burciaga (D) Garcia (D) Talley (D)
    Zavagnin (DM) Guttierrez (DM)
    Klein (M) Armstrong (M)
    Preki (AM)
    Fabbro (F) Simutenkov (F)

    4-4-2
    Meola (GK)
    Burciaga (D) Garcia (D) Talley (D) Guttierrez (D)
    Klein (M) Zavagnin (M) Preki (M) Armstrong (M)
    Fabbro (F) Simutenkov (F)

    Possible subs:
    Brown (F/M), Quill (M/F), Arnaud (F), Brunt (D), Gomez (M)

I can see Quill coming in for either forward and Armstrong as well. It's entirely possible that we could see Quill starting. I feel he could have a breakout year with us. Hopefully he'll get some good playing time with the nats and will have a productive offseason. Look for Brown to come in for either forward and Klein. Gomez is likely to come in for Preki. Look for Zavagnin, Garcia, and Guttierrez to be guaranteed 90 minute men if they remain healthy.

    Opinions?

Im not really sure burciaga will be playing that prominant a role in the D , But everything else looks allright to me.

i think one of the keys to success this season is finding a way to have armstrong and Quill on the field at the same time.

that, along with finishing by our 2 healthy forwards, and Defensive organization.

It seems to me were are very very thin on cover at the back or up front.

As soon as one forward gets injured, suspended or out of form we resort to Brown.

Same thing happens at the back we have Brunt.

    This isn't good. :(

He would have been a starter/first sub this season, according to CJ.

This looks about right to me, except Burciaga would play on the left side and Talley on the right. Burciaga, by most accounts, is better suited to central defense than a fullback-type.

What we saw in the playoffs clearly showed that Diego alongside KZ looks great.

I think this 3-5-2 is the way to go, both because it lets us use Diego and KZ in perhaps their best roles, and because we don't have natural fullbacks on either side (other than Diego on the left).

right now, I see it as this way

    Talley, Garcia, Buciagra
    Zavagnin, Deigo
    Klein,Preki, Quill
    Fabbro, Igor

I think that Armstrong is much stronger coming off the bench. Quill is going to break out next year barring any injury. Fabbro needs to be upgraded and so does our left back position.

I want to see Burciaga again before I decide whether or not he should start.

I understand your feeling Chad. But who else are we going to put on the backline? Aside from another draft pick like Nick Garcia, I think these are our only options:

    Garcia
    Talley
    Burciaga
    Guttierrez
    Brunt

And I'd much rather see Diego play as a defensive mid along side Zavagnin.

Actually Kevin, as of right now, I'd love to pencil Burciaga in. I'm just hoping he doesn't get to sit the bench all year this year without us all getting a chance to see him in action.
