Thank you. Hopefully that will help his situation at Charlton (I assume that "London" means Charlton).
I can't imagine Spector complaining about anything (publicly anyway). He just doesn't seem the type. Very McBride-esque I'd say.
I wonder if Curbs will treat JS any differently, now that he knows he'll have the kid around for the rest of the season. Given Charlton's growing problems on its back line, there is some opportunity for him.
...and Happy Birthday to young Jon today. His maturity is surprising for his age - But I believe his acceptance of this has more to do with other factors. (a) He's very young and knows he has not yet earned the right to expect and demand premeirship playing time (b) his best bet at playing time is at Charlton, and (c) to be young and well-paid and living in London - not at all a bad deal.
He was pretty good against Arsenal. If I didn't know better, I would not have guessed he was a young player.
his birthday is actually March 1, 1986. when he first went to the UK, the press didnt decipher it properly. hence the 1-3-86 birthdate
I felt the same way in my views on spector until i saw this thread . . . https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=285778
How is it complaining to say that you want more playing time so that you'll have a better shot at making the world cup?
Provided the the comments actually occurred and were paraphrased correctly, how is saying he wants more playing time in order to increase his chances at a WC shot a. complaining b. anything other than what you'd want from a player reasonably considered to be in the WC team talent pool? edit: ah, two great minds, etc.
So the FTD "Birthday Hooray!" bouquet might give him the wrong idea about my intentions... ...you're right though, I pulled the date off of skysports
I am a bit of the "old school" belief that things should be handled internally. I generally am against speaking out about playing time or lack thereof. I am sure Spector said it as tactfully as possible but anytime you mention lack of playing time publically it is complaining about it in my humble opinion
....again it seems that in his 1/2 season at Charlton he has played about as many times as Cooper did at Academica De Coimbra.....and Cooper did play vs Benfica...
Spector has played quite a bit more than Cooper did in Portugal, iirc His loan was cut short, while Spector's appears to be extended.
then you remember incorrectly....Spector may have played a little more than Cooper did....but not by much.... Cooper played in 8 games, 4 starts in 1/2 a season..in the top division in Portugal
Hey, if Sky says his birthday is Jan 3, his birthday is Jan 3. He should just be glad it didn't used to be march 13 or later, or he'd be have to celebrate on the 3rd of Floopuary, or something.
Actually, Cooper played in 17 games between his two loans last year, leaving Spector with a way to go to match that -- of course, Spector is playing at a higher level (my personal opinion remains that the EPL is superior to the Superliga and of course to Division 1 in England).
