Spector given squad number

    This is great news. Isn't this a good indication that he will see some action with the reserves sometime soon?

    Good for him! When I follow the above link, I notice that Spector is listed on the full squad, but Cooper is not. I wonder if this is a mistake, or if Spector is somehow considered closer to making the first team than is Cooper?

    In 4thegame.com, the number 40 is still for Daniel Nardiello. Is this guy off the team for a loan anything? If it is for Spector, then he did make the first team.

    He was sent on a loan to a 3rd division team but came back. Maybe he got a new number.

    i'm sort of ignorant when it comes to this:

    can anyone tell me what "getting the #40 shirt" really means?

    I think it means this...he has to be assigned a number before he can play for the seniors. Now, it's just a formality, but it's an indication that ManU thinks he's moving up the ladder. I guess an American analogy might be when a baseball player from the low minors gets to play an exhibition game, or practices with the major leaguers.

    But I might be wrong.
