The last of the subs are in and Spector remains on the pine for this one.

    Finished 3-1 to Everton.

Pity Spector didn't see any action, I wonder if he'll be off in January.

Which is why he said, "...in January" instead of "before January."

On topic...Spector is getting the shaft IMO. I have now seen, read, and heard enough of Charlton to know that their central defenders are average at best most weeks yet Spector ("the best defender (playing centrally at the time) of the preseason") can't buy a start. It's sad really.

I could see one of the teams needing back-up in the fight to stay up trying to get him, like Everton or WBA. Who knows, even United might want him back due to the poor form that Silvestre is currently experiencing.

Well, I had heard that they needed to decide by 12/31. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This is something to keep in mind when people say that "Yank A shouldn't go to Megateam B because he won't get playing time" or "Yank C should get a transfer to a lower level premiership team."

Each situation has to be evaluated on its own, but there are no guarantees, even when it seems that a player should be getting more time.

Doubtful considering we've just spent £7m on a new CB

Ah crap forgot about him. But even for LB though until Gabby is back, I dont trust John O'Shite.

True - issue on that is that tweety-pie was always better as a LB than a CB and could easily be moved there. Not only that there are the rumours floating around about Man U moving for Evra as well who also plays at LB

I always like Silvestre better at LB than CB. But Evra would surely command the left-back spot until late April if signed.

....Spectors relative lack of playing time has to be a concern, not only for the player but also for Man Utd. How many games has he played ? The situation reminds me a bit of Cooper's time at Academica De Coimbra.....Cooper played in 8 games, started in 4 (all wins, though he didn't score) in half a season....has Spector played in more than 10/12 games ??

Well it isn't that bad, but yeah -- if he can't get time for Charleton, getting time for ManU in the immediate future seems unlikely. Good news for Chris Albright, Frank Hejduk and Heath Pearce.

Yeah, since the EPL is the same as Academie's league... I'll keep that in file. England sez ...

btw, I think Spector has 5 starts and 6 subs including the two cup appearances, but not including a handful of friendlies.

I also think that Spector has not shown quite enough to make him a must-call.

you may find....if you check recent games....that the teams from portugals "super liga" have done quite well against Man Utd...and Cooper did play several times in the super liga...

I'm not arguing England. You say that Acadamie is at the level of the EPL. I'm just marking it down for further record.

And Spector's had 11 appearances, which is right in the 10/12 number. So do you take him to Germany? Me, I'm still on the fence. I'd give him a try in some friendlies, but I'd try others there as well.

Well one thing's for sure. Acadamica could keep Everton to under 3 goals. So could my high school.
