good find, I have not seen Spector play but I have heard he is drawing a lot of interest from MLS. Manchester United has a lot of players come in for trials though, Ed Johnson and Santino Quaranta were both supposed to have a trial with Man U but because of an injury to Johnson and I think scheduling conflicts with Quaranta they didnt go. But any professional exposure that Spector can get now is going to be beneficial to his play as well as to the $amount of his first contract. It would be great for him if he did get an offer from ManU, do you think a 16 year old american center back might be able to pick up a pointer or two practicing on the same pitch as Rio Ferdinand?
I talked to both Jonathan and his dad before he left. He has had offers from MLS and also had some interest from Manchester City, Inter Milan, and some German clubs. I believe he left Sunday, November 3 but I am not sure when he returned or if he is still there. He seemed excited to go and he appeared pretty confident. But I am sure he was nervous, since only a handful of American players have ever gotten an opportunity to try out for the world's most famous club. I really hope he did/does play well there and he impressed Man U. He is a great player and he is gonna be a big name in United States Soccer for a long time to come.
Spector is a great kid. But I heard his dad is getting some bad information, About what teams are really interested and which are not. He sould be very careful it is a jungle out there. Half of what he hears is only true and the half is not true . Hope his dad does the right thing!!!!
