lets make 2 teams.. one almsot soley filled with specialists.. so a real leftwinger a real rightback a real sweeper etc etc.
and a team filled with all round players.. for example paul breitner.. a player who played leftback and also defensive midfield etc etc.

i will try to make the teams evenly strong but more important then who is gonna win outta my 2 fantasy teams is wich kinda team would be better in reality.. a team filled with speicalists or with all roudners..
assuming their qualities and talents are the same..

    the specialists..4-3-3 formation
goalie .. doesn't really matetr we just take an excellent classic goalie.. , for example zoff or banks..
    leftback................................maldini
    central defender..................baresi
    centreback/manmarker.....stam or gentile
    rightback................................thuram
    leftmidfield............................rivelino
    rightmidfield.........................kopa
    playmaker...........................platini
    leftwing................................dzajic
    rightwing.............................garincha
    striker..................................ronaldo

    the allrounders... 3-2-3-2 formation
goalie.....................................kinda sweeper/keeper like van der sar or neuer
    leftback.................................fachetti
    central defender.................krol
    rightback.............................carlos alberto
    left dm................................breitner
    right dm.............................haan
    left am................................coluna
    central midfielder.............zico
    right am..............................liedholm
    left forward........................best
    right forward......................cruyff

i think its kinda evenly balanced..... team 1 has very specialists players. belonging to the very best in their positions i think most will agree on that.
where as team 2 is so fileld with players who coudl play on so many positions (fachetti beign a true leftback but also great in attcking then breitner takes his place in defense or krol who could play anywhere in defense same goes for carlos alberto when eh is going to attack arie haan or krol fill up his place..
coluna and liedholm also very complete and allround players.
same goes for best and cruyff they can switch postions regurarly or cruyff drops back when zico attacks..

personally (not jsut in this 2 teams as an example) but overall a team of all roudners would alwasy beat a team of specialists (if the quality of the players is about even)

there fore players like bozsik, van hanegem, ocwirk, krol, breitner, coluna etc etc belogn to the list of udnerrated players...

    Well actually my 2 cents:

    1- DF:
Thuram, Maldini , Krol , Bergomi .. were among the "ALL rounder" AS they could play great "equally" from FB to CB.

2- In term of "play making"
Zico was no less than Platini (if not even better = more effective with direct assists).
I woudl say the other way around: Zico was more "specialty in Playmaker" while Platini was more all rounded as AM/Playmaker/CM

    =====================================

Not that's your'e wrong, but there is a confusion between the two terms

    I agree with @JamesBH11
The likes of Maldini and Thuram were more allrounded than Facchetti and Carlos Alberto. Since the first, excelled internationaly at least in two roles. The latter played CB when past their prime years and not shine at NT there.

The same with Rivelino and Kopa (AM and Winger) vs Zico (Trequartista only)

Zico was not a tresquartista in Flamengo
(for 1.5 season at Udinese and Brazil NT yes)

Rivelino only played 6games as "false winger" for Brazil 70 (not enough) the rest career he was CAM 99%

Kopa was also a CAM (or inside FW) and played 3seasons with Real as Right WINGER (outside right)- as he could not compete with Puskas and Di stefano for such positions
