According to another forum I follow it was Paul Giblin on the world feed. I was expecting ESPN3 to be using the ESPN Deportes feed like they have done in previous weeks where ESPN does not provide their own English language commentary looks like I was wrong
Although it's still one month away, the website for Canal+ Liga has begun promoting El Clásico to be played on Saturday 10 December. Kickoff time is not mentioned but media reports have suggested 20:00 local (2pm ET U.S.) for the game at Madrid's Bernabéu Stadium. Barcelona were hoping for either a Friday kickoff or an early Saturday start since they have to leave for Japan eight time zones away and the FIFA Club World Cup immediately following El Clásico. They are scheduled to play their FIFA semifinal on Thursday 15 December with a likely kickoff around 11am Central European Time. Real Madrid were hoping for a Sunday kickoff so that they could have an extra day's rest following their Champions League match in Amsterdam the preceding Wednesday, December 7th. (Barcelona's CL game at home to BATE Borisov is on Tuesday the 6th.)
Listening to Monday's edition of the Guardian's Football Weekly Podcast it was interesting to hear Sid Lowe talking about how the Spanish media was trumpeting the new Noon kickoff (because Madrid was playing in it) and how the stadium was full and all. Unlike the doom and gloom we heard from Calculer about that timeslot. Granted they're not doing Madrid of Barca every week and this was the first time, but it seems it wasn't as bad as we were led to believe. Of course, we should check back to see if they schedule more early Madrid or any Barca games.

Let's see whether Real Madrid CF has the huevos to schedule El Clasico for 12noon local time on Saturday December 10. That would put Barca out of its comfort zone and force Barca to stay overnight in Madrid (which it has NEVER done for a La Liga match, though it has for an UEFA CL match.) Barca would prefer to play El Clasico on Friday night December 9 in order to have an extra day's rest before the Club World Cup semifinal in Yokohama the following wee,.

Quite sure clubs don't have much of a say in the matter. As it is, MARCA and SPORT are now reporting a confirmed date/time of Saturday 10 December @ 22:00 (4pm U.S. ET) for the first El Clásico of the season.

There has been a reshuffling of the schedule for Week 14 due to La Liga bowing to UEFA pressure to move the Barcelona v Rayo Vallecano match (Week #17 match being played early to accomodate Barcelona's participation in the Club World Cup) from Wednesday, Nov. 30th to Tuesday, Nov. 29th to give Rayo an extra day's rest and not to clash with UEFA's Europa League matches. Also worth noting that all 10 La Liga matches will be televised in the US as GOL-TV has increased it's coverage to 4 matches and DirecTV picking up the early Sunday kickoff match.
