I'm wondering if maybe Wes had limited minutes in case a last-minute transfer happened. Now that the window is closed, I'm pretty confident that Wes will be getting more minutes at wingback and maybe even CM behind Thuram and Locatelli/Koopmeiners. Kalulu at RWB cannot happen any more this year!

That sounds like a perfectly reasonable possibility.

Driving home from a short road trip last night, I couldn't stop thinking about the derby d'italia on saturday (I know that I have a problem). I'm feeling pretty confident that Wes will likely start at LWB due to the Cambiaso red card against Parma.

Wes, Di Gregorio (ITA), Kelly (ENG), Bremer (BRA), Kalulu (FRA), and Joao Mario (POR) were not called up to their respective national teams and will have extra time to prepare and work together for the big match.

    Di Gregorio
    Kalulu-Bremer-Kelly
    Joao
    -Locatelli-Thuram-Weston
    Concecaio-Yildiz

Tuned in late so I missed seeing McKennie play.

Saw Vasilije Adžić score the beautiful game winner from outside the box and it was a screamer!

Can't believe he is only 19.

2 goals off set pieces and 5 absolute golazos. It was wild. Wes played well, but I suppose his lack of a golazo puts him midpack at best :)

Weston played 79', but was not particularly impactful. He had a couple of good defensive plays and a good effort to maintain possession near Inter goal, no mistakes, but no goal contributions.

He started or was involved in some dangerous chances, during the time I watched. But really hard to stand out with such brilliance everywhere.

Had a great contribution for the opener by working hard to ensure that Juve was able to keep the ball around the box to maintain pressure. Did well defensively against Dumfries which is why I think he mainly started at LWB. He offers more going forward in comparison to Kalulu (RWB). He still gives the ball away a little too easily, but overall was a positive for the team.

Cambiaso is still the starter at LWB, but the RWB could be claimed by Wes (think it is his best role at Juve).

Wes and Juve go into their first CL match tied at the top of the table with Napoli on 9 points.

Holy hell, what a match. What I really don't get is how the backup Juve gk (#23) is allowed to come onto the field twice to celebrate goals. Is he the designated goal celebrater and given special dispensation?

And even if he wasn't, there's still a real role for a defensively solid wing-back on one side if the opposite one offers creativity.

Wes is likely to be that guy if needed

The few minutes I watched had McKennie very active in the buildup on the left.

Carlo Pinsoglio is the #3 keeper and represents one of the homegrown players. Took over the chief vibes officer (CVO) from Marco Sturari. I'm guessing they let him do whatever because he is the lowest paid player in the squad!

    He’s a keeper - Wes blah blah

He’s never “in their plans”, but they keep him around for many years now! And it’s ironic because he never played keeper, yet he is one
