Possibly, but its also hard to deny that Juve have had a rough go of it since getting eliminated from the Coppa... since their QF match, they've gone 3-3-1 (6gf, 10ga). As much as it would delight me to have a Yank that influential, I don't think that can all be attributed to Wes' form.
Yeah - that's fair. It's often whole teams that go through slumps in part due to the pressure of all the games.
Last season, iirc, Juve had a really bad Feb-March, then turned it around in April and had a reasonably strong finish in May (after a really strong start to the season). April a bit of a lost month at this point, but maybe they can beat last seasons final month run.
McK and Juve win. In 4 ftm. And Atlas yawned. McK with a 6 for a hardworking shift. Cambia’s and Kelly with 5.5 and Yikdiz a 4 for the elbow that put Juve a man down before ht but already up by 2. Won 2-0.
plug it into Google translate. The AI knows! Also, the bumps Juve up over bologna for 4th, but only by 2 pts. Bologna have one more game to play than Juve going forward. 4 more games for Juve, 5 for Bologna. Our boys need the sandwich slices to slip up. Also, Weah came on at 59 or so for Cambiaso.
Followed by more summer reports that he is not in the project and out of favor, followed by more continuous starts next season, rinse, repeat
Followed by more BS on BS that he should leave for a club that values him. This will be his second contract extension in 12 months. Time for this horseshit to end but it won't.
Well, he is signing an extension, so there are no contractual issues. That removes one of the past reasons. He also isn't asking to join another club and getting relegated, so that removes the other reason. I'm fairly certain the only drama will be what position he will play and whether he is a guaranteed starter with Tudor or the new manager.
I get why this happens. Wes is a hard player to figure out. Mostly what he brings consistently is ‘intangibles’. If you’re trying to assign roles in a tactical system, WTF is he? It doesn’t help that he just looks overweight either. He’ll always struggle to convince, unfortunately.
Wes started in attacking midfield and went the full match in a 1-1 draw with Bologna today, which keeps them in 4th place, just above Roma on goal difference for the final champions league spot. Worth noting that McKennie set up Alberto Costa in the 76th minute w/ an xA of like .9 for the winner, from 6 yards and Costa blew it.
Wes needs to add more shooting to his game. He had a perfect run thru the MF in the 1st half which would have given him plenty of space to strike from 20 yards out relatively uncontested but of course he tries to lay it off via a thru ball that goes directly to the opponent. Then... late in the game he is about 6 yards out and the ball deflects and bounces perfectly to him but instead of shooting he centers the ball and his teammate whiffs. The latter pass wasn't a bad ball like the first and should have resulted in a solid xG but he could have also just put his foot through it initially despite not being at the perfect angle. I dunno.... I watch nearly every Juve game and Wes almost never shoots unless he is making a run into the box and is awaiting a cross. It makes him easier to defend outside the box because he never pulls the trigger... the opponents just know he is going to pass.
Struggle to convince the Twitterati you mean and who cares what they think? The only people he needs to convince is an FO and the coach the FO hires. He keeps doing that. Job done.

Was on the road this weekend, but shocked to see no one commented on Weston McKennie's glorious assist (hockey assist from Weah), to set up Kolo Muani for a brilliant goal. After Kalulu received a red card for one of the most petulant violent conduct challenges you'll see, Juve and Mckennie defended deep and held on until the 96' minute before conceding a back breaking equalizer to Lazio. It finished 1-1. Wes played wide attacking midfielder, central midfielder, and full back in the match and played extremely well.
Lazio-Juventus, le pagelle: Kalulu scellerato, Vecino provvidenziale - Eurosport Weston McKennie 6.5 - Positivo e propositivo, pregevole l'assist con cui imbecca il gol di Kolo Muani. Weston McKennie 6.5 - Positive and proactive, excellent assist with which he sets up Kolo Muani's goal. Lazio Juventus 1-1, le pagelle della partita di Serie A - Sky Sport Weston McKennie voto 6.5
Are they slashing wages or selling the bigger stars? Just seems odd that Weston would be among the highest earners unless of course he is seen as the face of the team.
