It was like a vidya game highlight in Fifa, a perfect tackle, a perfect pass to find Weston, then weston hits a perfect switch over to Weah, who then...meekly tries a low cross, but then totally redeems himself by calmly picking his head up and playing a cultured cross into the run of Weston who hits a perfect side volley that no keeper could stop.

    On repeat.

    From the Guardian's MBM:
76 mins: It starts with Danilo taking the ball off the toes of Doku on the Juventus left. He passes infield to McKennie, who releases Weah into the right side of the area with an excellent pass. Weah tries a low cross and hits a defender but the ball deflects back to him, and at the second attempt he picks out McKennie’s run into the area, and the American scissor-kicks into the corner! Everything about that move, except the one thing that wasn’t which I’m going to ignore because the thing overall was so good and doesn’t deserve to be dragged down by one poorly-conceived pull-back, was perfect.

Quite a bit of love there from coach Motta. Not so much love coming from Wes to Leeds
Weston McKennie, Juventus. Juventus’s second, clinching goal against Man City was made in America, Timothy Weah’s cross looping into the path of McKennie to volley in. The two USMNT members became the first Americans to connect for a goal and assist in Champions League history. “Being an American, being over here, it’s something you deal with, but I like it,” McKennie said. “I like when people doubt me, and sometimes I play my best football when people doubt me.”
He has been something of a bit-part as Thiago Motta tries to overhaul Juventus, making only five Serie A starts but “Weston can do everything,” Motta said.
McKennie ended his evening explaining to Micah Richards, a native of the city, why he struggled at Leeds. “It was always grey, I had a sunlight window in my house and there was never any sun coming through,” he said. “No Sunday roast, no nothing. I was alone. My area was like no area, nothing around. I went up to see Harry Potter World which was like an hour away.” Turin seems to suit him better.

Wes doesn't seem to like Leeds much as a city either. Honours even you might say.

Turin over Leeds is a no-brainer every day of the week and 10 times on Sunday

There’s that British journalism I know and hate. Has Wes been hurt for a large chunk of the season? I, a dumb message board poster, know the answer that the Guardian reporter does not.

I was asking because if he could last there a few years he could have done the same at Leeds. Does Turin have great weather? I doubt it has as much sun as DFW.

    It's not so bad.
There aren't any Leeds fans there.

Turin is in the foothills of the alps and has a mild Mediterranean influenced climate. Same latitude as Portland. Think a slightly warmer, overall sunnier Portland. Not bad. And it's a beautiful area as well, certainly moreso than Leeds.

    Why the Fresno hate?

Did you get home and find a Fresno guy having a threesome with your girlfriend and your dog?

If not, wash your mouth out with soap and water! If yes, don't blame Fresno for one guy! :p:p

Out of curiosity, I Googled "Gelsenkirchen skyline", Leeds. etc. in order. The results are as follows.

    Self-explanatory really.

This is not hard. Weather and the city of Leeds suck the big one.

That was before he went Turin and had ranch over pizza. Leeds was after.

Juve stumble to a last-gasp tie on an injry time PK to lowly Venice... didn't see this but both yanks started and I doubt it was a highlight reel game for either.

It's being reported that Wes is playing LB.

He isn't the only one playing out of position, with Locatelli playing CB next to Kalulu.

    Very very attacking minded lineup.

It's being reported that Wes will likely be inverting into the midfield next to Thuram in possession. That's fine and all, it's more the defensive side that worries me. I trust Wes with most 1v1s, it's holding the line and moving together as a defensive unit which worries me. Only shot at silverware, hopefully TM doesn't regret this.
