Juventus-Manchester City 2-0, le pagelle della partita di ... SUBENTRATI JUVENTUS dal 69' MCKENNIE voto 7 dal 69' WEAH voto 7
It actually looks more like a side volley to me. Either way, in Italian soccer vernacular, they don't say full or half they just say "volley"!
Two great pix. Nice. I loved how he was calling for it whole way too... Wes was totally primed to score.
Agreed, side volley is accurate. A half volley is hit after a short hop. It's the shooting version of a drop kick.
McKinnie has scored with a volley against Barcelona and Manchester City in Champions League Play. Wrap your minds around that and think back to the bad old days of the USMNT. That's literal crazy talk just a few short decades ago. Gorgeous play all around. Keeper had no chance and Wes just carved MC up. You love to see it.
Remember when we used to fight over whether Rico Clark should have been getting those starts for the USMNT! We've come a long way baby!
I may be in the minority here, but I loved the recognition of the space and asking for the ball from Danilo, bursting forward with it, understanding the best way to put Weah in on goal (over the head of Lewis) and understanding that he could still affect the sequence by being the late runner. Willing to put in that run that others were willing to stop on the Citeh defensive side. Most notably Kyle Walker just watching Wes run away from him unmarked to the 6. Obviously the finish was nice (looked like finishing training since no one was marking him), but the lead up by Wes was most impressive to me.
Serie A might be the 2nd best league. Juve and Milan which are outside the top 4 currently in Italy beating the likes of Man City and Real Madrid.
