He’s probably the first American I’d pick to be on my 10-man side. He never quits, is in great shape and has the ability to do unexpected things to change the complexion of the game.

Imagine if he replaced RLC at Milan.

Wes is an important piece at the top 3-4 Serie A level.

I think he's a future Juve captain. Another few years of small incremental improvements and he'll be near world class. He does it all and he doesn't GAF about anything other than winning.

Heart is great, grinta as they say over there, but the stamina and speed and precision to make the tackle just as important. Can't have the tackle without all of them. Weston is more than just a hustler and he's more than just a bruiser he's a unique combination of traits.

What’s nuts to me is all the stuff about Wes being overweight and out of shape. Yeah, a fat, out of shape player is going to get the vote of confidence from a coach (with no plans for him!) to go 90+ minutes in a CL game down a man.

he has fat face disease. bad for anybody but especially pro athletes. he's probably around 10% body fat but looking at his face you'd think 15%.

Yeah, it's so silly to judge from his chipmunk cheeks. Nobody does what he's done the past 10 years and is in any way out of shape or overweight. The vanity of CR7 and his silly six-pack - which is not an indication of actual endurance or athleticism - has only made it worse, but Wes is plenty fit and athletic.

Jesús, Simons doesn't even try to playact like it was a foul. He just stays prone on the ground like he knew it was a tackle and a half and he he'd given his all, only to get chased down and blown up by someone stronger and faster and who wanted it more. Wonderful reaction for those on the other side :)

Hi. Thanks for the link, which appears to be a thread in an Italian Juve-centric forum, dedicated to apologizing to Weston.

(It's always a good idea to give folks a brief description of what's behind a link, given the all-too-real possibility that someone less nice than you is looking to spread malware.)

Good point, I didn't think about that...and yes you are correct.

The specific thread title on the fan page is entitled Sorry Weston.

Given what's happening in the world right now, the term "escalation dominance" is apposite here.

    "Primate dominance" certainly is.
