Came in at 67', didn't do much, doesn't look match fit. Lost a ball that could have been dangerous, was late to a pass, failed to cover his man twice. One to forget.
I'm a strong supporter but given his play this summer you gotta wonder if something is up with guy, or perhaps he was just unsettled at club and it affected him. Let's hope he can get on form he is adjusting to yet another new gaffer and system.
I just hope his nickname is Ceci. (BTW, Fagioli came out when Wes went in. "Officially" it was for Locatelli, in a double swap, but deep down we all know freis called it.)
Thanks! Apologies! mods please remove if possible! Here is the correct post…. https://sport.sky.it/calcio/serie-a/2024/09/01/juventus-roma-pagelle/amp DAL 67' MCKENNIE voto 6
It isn’t really Mckennie’s fault. From what I’m reading in the Italian newspapers is the entire Juventus roster is still getting used to Thiago Motta’s style. Juve hasn’t lost yet and there will be a lot of time to recuperate and makeup points. The national team break will help some players who aren’t traveling as well.
It's good the Weston McKennies wasn't picked for the USMNT. This will give him more time to train with Motta.....
Poch not being at this camp made it pretty much a no brainer that Wes should stay and do precisely what Motta wants him to do. This could turn out quite nicely for Wes to stay and get up to speed with the new Juve.
The only thing bringing Wes back to the team is not so much what he does for them, but the guys starting ahead of him failing. A coach announces a guy is "not in the plans," it becomes a matter of ego. He went back last season after their midfield kept generating nothing. Humans are not logical. We're emotional, take decision based on emotions. So far the guys starting now keep getting good results, no matter what Wes does, he will be sitting and at best starting Coppa games and playing 20 minutes every other game.
Or injuries. But I agree that it won't be nearly as easy for him to make himself invaluable to the new coach. I think he will have to play significantly better than his competition to get a lot of minutes.
Buongiorno dal JTC 😂 pic.twitter.com/rsuysVM69A— JuventusFC (@juventusfc) September 9, 2024 Weston is spotted heading into training with a hefty shoulder brace on. No news about training restrictions or anything, so hopefully it's just preventative.
I thought I heard he needed surgery on his shoulder at some point. I wonder if that finally happened.
