but, naw, this wasn't a red at all. Why did Sky Sports delete this tweet? pic.twitter.com/siMbwh8X4W— Gunners (@Gunnersc0m) October 23, 2022
The AV podcast bingo card space: two things can be true. The ref was crap, and we were crap for all of the second half save the last 5 minutes.
honestly, the turning point to me was the saka yellow card then subsequent no-call when he was barged over. that combination took the energy out of saka and he was out of the game afterwards and, once that happened, our play was well off.
I also think a big part of it is besides the one game where he blanketed Salah, Tomi is an average LB. He is not a natural left footer like Tierney so his overlapping runs are poor on the left (not on the right), and he isn't as good as Zinc is with the ball when he plays as an inverted LB.
Since the replay was never shown on TV... Share this everywhere. @FA_PGMOL must answer as to why this wasn't a foul. Tierney could have been seriously injured pic.twitter.com/1nQPcAfEW1— Bukayo Goal (@BakayoGoal) October 23, 2022 Looks like Elyounoussi swings his right arm at KT and slaps/punches his neck. How was this not reviewed?
Jesus (penalty incident) “I spoke with him (referee) straight afterwards and he said ‘If you go down before maybe I can give a penalty’. But I think I was fair, I tried to hold and keep standing and tried to finish the action but in the end he grabbed me and it was impossible”— Arsenal Guns (@TheArsenalGuns) October 24, 2022 So flop immediately and get a pen. Do the right thing and try to compete, nada.
Hmm. We all know that ref decisions aren't always based on reality. But for Jesus to quote the HR as saying to him "If you go down before, maybe I can give a penalty" well that's a little damning. Not sure who is @TheArsenalGuns but if there were a video clip of Jesus saying this, or if it was quoted by a mainstream journo that would be "interesting."
the jackass did the same thing on the tierney play where he set up odegaard's finish. yes, the ball went out of bounds. that call was correct. but it went out of bounds because elyounoussi lunged at and fouled tierney in the box causing him to lose balance and couldn't get to the ball in time. but, because tierney tried to play on, referee did not whistle for a penalty. that's just shit refereeing.

He’s been making 5-7 outfield changes every midweek game. What do you want rotation look like? This entire thread needs to relax. We’re fine.
Amazingly, like the Ben White incident, I believe it was reviewed, but VAR deemed it not a ‘clear and obvious error’ so did nothing.
it feels like we've always been screwed for our naivete with these things, whether it's the flop-and-WWE-sell vs trying to stay up or even something as basic as "falling" onto the ball and grabbing it when we are foul to force a call one way or another vs expecting referees to do their actual job. granted, i very much prefer how we are and would hate if we became one of those cynical squads but, unless quality of refereeing improves, i think we'll just continue to be screwed. :-/
i don't know if you generally peek into the twitterverse but, holy shit, you'd swear we're battling bournemouth for the final non-relegation place and gabriel jesus is now aubacazette v2.0.
Yeah but then Saka gets some contact (sure, maybe not enough to warrant a free kick) falls and gets ridiculously carded for diving. It's like....a situation where you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Something....probably an iconic term for it but I don't know of one......
