Last game of the season and sadly its not how we expected it to wrap up, dreams of titles and trophies went out the window, and the season just kinda finishes up with the sad feeling of "well we go around again next season".
But the excitement of what promises to be a massive offseason where our players get refreshed, we get some new faces in, and we look to 25/26 as the year we end the drought gives me hope.
So one last chance to say goodbye to some club favourites, hopefully we see some kids get game time as well, and no doubt this is the last time we see some players wearing the badge (they/we just don't know it yet).
No chance of seeing Saliba with his injury, and the other injured players will be missing as per usual but I think we get Mikel Merino back from his suspension.

Soton having a horrendous season and end their year only just getting past the dire points total of Daaaarby, and hopefully this means we send off the season with a boatload of goals. We have no players on double digit goals this season so if Havertz could get one and Martinelli/Trossard get 2 each that would be super.

To the people on this board week in week out, thanks for making this place a fun joint to come back to for football discussions. With a lot of Arsenal online areas being complete and utter dumpster fires (and lets not even start on social media), its continues to be a pleasure to be on here with you whether we win, lose or draw.

With that said, I am tipping a 1-6 win to the Arsenal, with 1 goal to Havertz, 2 to Trossard, 2 to Martinelli and 1 to Odegaard.

    LES FOGGIN' GO!

Agree about the almost oasis-like quality of BigSoccer/Arsenal. The manageable number of posts & users, the relative civility (most of the time!) and intelligence of comments.

Anyway here’s to us, to the boys, a win on south coast, and @And_ROOS continuing as our thread leader well into late Fall or Winter. :D

p.s. our match is on TV (Syfy channel) and I believe also streaming on Peacock.

I have to think Ramsdale will be in demand by other low-mid table Premier league teams, no?

While we’re at it, if Odegaard assists on two of those goals, he joins Saka with double digit assists.

I think we should all be rooting for Kai to start/play AND score. For several reasons, including that if he does he'll reach 10 goals, and thus a 101 year record (supposedly) of Arsenal having at least one player in double-digits will be preserved! :D

Please...please...please play Nwaneri. Hoping beyond hope Dowman gets on the bench and plays a few minutes.

Calafiori came on for 22 min vs PSG, 12 against Liverpool, a half against Newcastle and he's out of the squad again.

Need to find us an inexpensive option that can play LB and something else (RB, DM, LM, ...). If Cala stays healthy, we have depth to push MLS into MF occasionally. If he doesn't, we have depth so MLS doesn't get run into the ground.

And Sterling! Talk about bone throwing.

Of course this game is virtually meaningless for us so nice to see certain players given a rest like Saka & Ode.

ps. With both of them on the bench it’s interesting to see Ethan used as wide forward rather than at R8. Might say something about where Mikel sees his future?

Raya tied with Sels from Forest for most clean sheets, might be trying to get him the golden glove.

His future may be at W but I think today has far more to do with current depth.

I'm watching Peacock and what is supposedly Soton - Arsenal and yet all I'm seeing is Anfield. WTF?

Edit: OK they finally corrected that "error" seconds before KO.

Lineup suggested Partey at RB, White/Kiwior at CB, Tierney at LB, Rice at 6 and Zinchenko at left 8. But appears to be White at RB, Kiwior/Tierney at CB, Zinchenko at LB, and Partey/Rice in midfield.
