Ahem, the pressure's on LFC and BR to get into the top 4 after spending all that money this past summer on S'ton players. S'ton have nothing to lose and so much to gain. If they finish above LFC, what does that say about them and about LFC?

Both Arse & Scum won so the pressure is really on us to get 3pts.

Assuming you mean Manchester United, you might want to check their score again.

Got to score first and within 20 minutes, then repeat often. The longer we go without a goal the more stressful the game will become...For me that is..:)

I was at OT the night after the Liverpool game to see United play Burnley (friend's dad is a Burnley supporter) and they were extremely underwhelming. Burnley outplayed them - they were due to lose to a mid table side. Credit to Swansea.

After our lovely trip to balmy Liverpool, I am at home on the freezing shores of Virginia. I doubt I will go out to the pub since the roads are still screwed up from last night's snow.

This is an important game but we are playing good football and have every reason to expect a victory. We should play like we are the better team. Press for possession, work the ball quickly and try to score quickly. We can do that!

Its so true - you'll never hear a quieter 75k people anywhere. The Burnley supporters were taunting the home crowd, "shall we sing a song for you?" it was awesome - I was a Burnley supporter for the evening.

Completely agree with the expectation to take 3 points against So'ton. I hope Lallana and Lambert combine for the winner.

None of us predicted this team:

    Mingolet
    Can Skrtel Lovren
    Ibe Henderson Allen Markovic
    Lallana Sterling Coutinho

Subs: Ward, Johnson, Toure, Lambert, Sturridge, Moreno, Balotelli

We are deep enough...with Spurs draw, we have the chance to move up the table...

    Come on you Reds!

Brendan obviously knows more than us and sees the guys in training, but those were my thoughts exactly. I sincerely hope Daniel hasn't reaggravated his injury and it's precautionary. He needs minutes.

I see Studge coming on if we need a goal and Lambert or Balo coming on to slow things down if ahead.

That match had quite an ending, a pen with literally seconds left. West Ham deserved 3 points there.

Speaking of underperformers, the bitters are down 2-1 vs Leicester.

It would be very risky and unwise to start Sturridge twice in 3 days after his injury. Starting him in the Europa league instead of a crucial league match is where you can question Rodgers. It also makes sense that Balotelli wouldn't be trusted to lead the line. So its back to the front 3 of Sterling, Coutinho, and Lallana that got this run of good form started. If the 3 little men can't take their chances we have 3 big strikers on the bench who can change the game.

Our defensive formula that has been so successful is under great threat today with no Lucas and Sahko. Lovren and Allen both have a lot to prove.

Targett and Yoshida need to be attacked EVERY opportunity - it is their biggest weakness.
Pressure Ward-Prowse whenever he is in possession - I am not as impressed by him as some commentators are - and we can turn defense into offense often.

I'm confident in winning 3 points.

2-0 to the good. Hendo sneaks a FK and Sterling.

Maybe Lovren will suddenly find his form back at St. Mary's.

Ibe and Markovic have proven that they are both capable of man of the match performances. That it is some threat down the wings. We should have enough going forward, even without a recognized striker. Its our defense that I worry about. Huge day for Dejan Lovren.

That Sahko injury is a killer. He had everything to do with our defensive improvement Let's hope Lovern can come through.
