I posted this on another message board last December ...

    2001, 8-7-3 (2-6-1 SEC)
    2002, 13-6-2 (4-3-2 SEC) - 0-1 SEC Tourney
    2003, 10-8-3 (3-4-2 SEC) - 0-1 SEC Tourney

Now then, the Gamecocks are 6-9-2 overall with a win vs. arch-rival Clemson this season (1-3 vs. Tigers), but are 0-6-2 in the Southeastern Conference ... I really didn't expect an "0fer" season in SEC play -- did anyone else? ... Can anyone tell me what's happened to this year's squad? ... Seems to be a good weekend to break into the win column in conference play Friday and Sunday:

    10/23 @ Arkansas (6-8-2, 2-4-2 SEC)
    10/25 LOUISIANA STATE (6-9-1, 1-6-1 SEC)

Great job by the Lady Gamecocks on winning their first two conference games of the year ... 2-6-2 in SEC play with a home match vs. Florida on Friday at Stone Stadium ... 8-9-2 overall and a win would give the program a .500 mark with an outside shot of making the conference tourney at Auburn, AL ... Good luck!

South Carolina. Hmmm. Isn't that where Lexi Randazzo is playing? I've just heard of her as the former title-holder for best girl's name in high school athletics and now a strong contender for best name in college sports, women's division.

OK, if Lexi Randazzo plays for the Gamecocks, I'll start rooting for South Carolina in the SEC!
