Originally appearing in the Daily Mirror, Most media outlets in the UK are reporting that Graeme Souness has made a £20 million bid to purchase Wolves from Sir Jack Hayward.

The confusion in the story comes about when Souness tells the BBC that the deal has already been rejected, and Jez Moxey tells the club website that no offer has been made, and he has not been in contact with Souness at all (aside from Souness being Moxey's guest at a recent match at Molineux.)

This came out of nowhere. The club has had a "for sale" sign out front for a couple of years now. This one may just have some substance to it though. Going by the Mirror article, Souness doesn't want to coach (or at least, doesn't want to get rid of Mick McCarthy), so we'll have to see what happens.

Moxey has been very careful with his statements. He has said that Wolves are not currently in negotiation but has not said that they have not had any talks with Souness.

Well, whatever was said before, now things are happening, as this was posted on the club site today, from Jez:

"I can confirm that following the signing of confidentiality agreements this evening, we have recieved a formal written offer for the Club on behalf of Graeme Souness and others. Both sides have agreed not to make any further public comments"

The E&S website says that there is at least one other group who may be interested in the club as well, and everything going on makes it seem like some deal with someone will be finalized here soon.

I read something on the E&S website saying that there were two other interested groups, one of which had Wolves as a backup in case another deal falls through (Mandaric?).
