This morning we have received 5 new sign ups pushing us to 1,300 members. That has pushed our average to 100 members a month for the nearly 13 months we have been in existence, including 240 new members in the last 30 days.

Thank you for continuing to spread the word of Sons of Ben. Hopefully soon we will be having one hell of a crowded party.

Bryan, Good news about the new members. I have a few friends I think would like to join. I'm not the most computer savy person. Is there a link I can email them?

The member number we have reached wouldn't be possible without the hard work of every member reaching out. We've said before, it's become the perfect storm. Motivated fans, well-monied owners, interested politicians and they have all fed each other.

if that same growth continues then by the first game we'll have a small army.

now i don't know all the history, but i'm sure that the growth rate for Jan is a exponential compared to past months. if that rate of growth keeps on it's current course we'll be able to take over any stadium half of us go to :)

anyone good enough at math (or bored enough) to figure out what that exponent is?

Thanks for the link. It's great to be a part of a group of futbol fanantics who are as eager as I am for an MLS team In Philadelphia. We have come a long way. I was actually working at the Sheraton in Ft. lauderdale where the first MLS draft was held. I remember asking Andres Cantor why Philly was not getting a franchise at that time. He said MLS was starting slowley and building. I've even been to a few MLS matches.Remember the Miami Fusion? They palyed there home matches in Lockheart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, which is used mostly for High School Football. I'm looking forward to sitting in the SOB section of the new Chester Stadium. Bill B

Do we know what the age range is and some demographics, or are you not allowed to disclose that information?

I would guess a wide range of ages with a concentration in the 18-34 market based on events. No demos are captured with apps.

I would imagine that most SoBs fall in the 18-35 range...but an interesting note is the 82-year old token fan we have...yeah, he's great...he will be sitting in the front row in his custom made rocking chair yelling at the players "Get off my grass!!...If that ball comes over here I'm keeping it!!"

I actually have a brother who was asking me questions about the Sons of Ben but he's kind of young. But hey what a better age to get into their minds and brain wash them, I mean help them grow into well rounded adults. Oh, and one condition Frank stays at least 3 yards from the youngster at all times. ;)
I think after word really gets out that people in areas a little further outside Philadelphia might peak some interest too, Like perhaps the Reading area. Not like there is anything there to hold their interest.

I can say that the Reading area does not know much if anything about the SoB's. I live between Reading and Lancaster and most of the people I talk to have never heard of the SoB's. There is a good soccer base in this area so I think that once the team is announced they will take notice. Sometimes people around here can be a little slow to pick up on things. I think they will have a solid presence once things are finalized, they just might need a little encouragement.

Bryan - do you have a timeline of our growth. For instance, in Feb. of last year there were 20 ppl. In July there were 500. I would be curious to see exponential and seriously viral our growth has been. That is the best way to prove the buzz!

G'day all...I joined up last night. For demographic purposes, I'm a 25 year old who was born and raised in Claymont, DE (about 10 mins from Chester) but have been living in Baltimore for college and work for the past 7 years. Heard about SoB when the group came down to make some noise at the MLS function the other week, but have been following Philly's bid for a team for awhile now.

I'll probably be moving back up north within the next year to the Conshocken area and be more actively involved, but there are plenty of people starting to notice the buzz down here and I'm just ready to get this thing official!
