My County Tis of Thee better be sung by those at the stadium. Wouldn't mind Battle of New Orleans. Other than that, I just want us to be heard.
love a lot of these as long as were loud and show our support anything is good, god i wish i could go to the games
I don't know comedy chants are always good fun and keep the atmosphere light hearted. I've watched the other fans laughing at funny Stoke chants like the one below. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-fTdUlRAEA"]YouTube- Hull away - We only score from a throw in![/ame] I think England fans would just laugh if US fans were chanting 'soccer' for a while.
I'm sure he meant only singing the anthemic chorus, and not the bitter verses that go along with it. And that's fine, no need to sing about the hardships of disaffected Vietnam vets upon their return to the States, it's not exactly the right venue. Great song/album by the way, I heart The Boss.
Yeah I get what he intended but It's still a misuse and perpetuates the misunderstanding of that song that most people have.
It'll get a good warm-up this Saturday night, in a pub in Melbourne's eastern fringes. And the owner of the pub already knows what to expect from me, and my guests as well. That's for the USA v Australia friendly. And I'll be printing out this whole thread for the match against England, and taking it to the pub with me, no question about it.
funny, i've seen AO people sing it as well, not just Sams Army types, like myself. Wipeout being done in the middle of sec 129 during the game with our trumpet and trombone player was awesome.
To the tune of this ethnocentric piece of shit: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1M730cYkic"]YouTube- 10 German Bombers England fans Stuttgart WC 2006[/ame] There were 10 english redcoats on the hill... and the minutemen from boston shot them down...
I like, but many on here have suggested "and the continental army shot them down" instead. Flows a little better. But it's a fun tune (an American tune BTW) and it's long so people have a chance to catch on.
Sh**, I don't have video for it, but both the Sams Army and AO lead guys from the Boston area turned around and started the chant last Tuesday. After laughing my head off, I did my best to spread it around.
They think they're so clever when they do it to germans, but it's really so horribly offensive it pisses me off. And it's really only us or maybe zulus that can do it to them.
English fans chant a lot of historical stuff at other nations, but they get bent outta shape when US fans give it back to 'em.
If there is video of this, please post it. Would love to see my contribution in to this thread in action
