(skip to :40 sec mark) Bah - car - ee... whoa - oh. Sue - mar - ee ... whoa oh - oh - oh (note, it's important to maintain the difference between the # of 'oh -oh -oh' in each verse so that people joining in midway can clearly distinguish which part we're on)
Love this! Much better than the Tequila song they tried for him last night - took forever to get to a 'Soumare'
Listen to the melody.. We are here, Here with you, You are our one and only passion, We will sing, Until we die, In that Philly Union fashion. (or.. In that Philly Blue and Gold) If someone wants to help me out with a better last line that would be cool. The melody is nice and with short versus people might be able to remember them (or a word or two).
It's only good for about a minute and two until everybody tires out and the effect/unison is lost but definitely should be a regular thing in the RE (say for example we are winning and we should do it for stoppage time in its entirety like last night). Here are two videos from that night with us jumping: http://www.flickr.com/photos/51570461@N08/7452446962/in/set-72157630307747064 http://yfrog.com/mzs0tgz Just imagine a full RE doing that!!
Agreed, we gotta keep that one. It's also key to stress that people should lock together (arms over the shoulders of their neighbors) for full effect.
It looked pretty sweet from the general seating on Tuesday. I would love for this to be a whole RE thing.
It's awesome that the River End finally has something to make a visual impact with. Can't wait to see this with everyone doing it.
Lyrics could be something like Why don't you come , When I beat My Drug, And scream your head off into the night x2 HEY HEY HEY NA NA NA NA I wanna See the union fight x2 I grew up around the Union's town, So I won't get caught on the wrong side x2 HEY HEY HEY NA NA NA NA I wanna see the union fight x2 Someone else might be able to come up with better lyrics but I think the song fits perfectly
This can work with really any team, just used the revolution as an example They may think they can beat us But we don't give a damn Their team is filled with reserves (originally had wankers but didn't wanna seem like a Eurosnob) The revs don't stand a chance Yeah We've got ______ (McInerney) He scores goals on demand There's no way they can stop him The Revs don't stand a chance I said the Revs don't, the Revs don't stand, the Revs don't stand a chance I said the Revs don't, the Revs don't stand, the Revs don't stand a chance
We love you Union... we do! We love you Union... we do! We love you Union... We do! Ooh... Union... We Love You!!!! Repeat
Properly executed, 'Jump for Philadelphia' has the power to collapse the upper deck at both RFK and RBA. Let's doooo it!
I'm usually pretty "go with the flow"...but Jump for Philadelphia is horrible. It just is. And that seemed to be the prevailing opinion among most of the people who sit around me.
It would of been much better if everybody did it. I was in 139 and nobody wanted to do it. This is a type of routine that everybody needs to do it for it to look good. Also everybody is suppose to wrap their arms around their neighbor's shoulder which was not done.
I kinda like the jump around bit as it adds some much needed energy (I tend to jump around during some of the existing songs). But no way in hell I'm wrapping my arms around anyone...not into that much communalism and reminds me of the ESC in NY doing their line dancing BS.
I'm in the same boat. The chant itself is weak. We have too many songs/chants that are all just sounds like Dale and doop and claps and HEY and all that and not enough with lyrics. Seems lacking in creativity. I'd like to see more like "SKC's Because we got Kai" stuff. Maybe we could work the jumping into another song we already have or something like that, but you can tell by the end of the game a lot of the sections die our because they are bored with the same chants of doops and dales and claps and heys that go on for 5 minutes each. I know its all great in the middle, but the outsides of TRE get bored with it. This is just another repetitive song along the same lines
False. I definitely recall this happening. maybe only at away games, but it happened, and pepole weren't really that into it.
I think this is all we need to know about most of the SoBs and why no one seems to give a sh1t Hundreds of teams' supporters do this kinda crap. I'm more offended when we do the "Sounders ole ole" or DC's droning "oh OH oh Oh oh" on corners. Playing Devil's avocado here, since I think the jumping chant is weak as well.
My not wanting to hug the sweaty guy next to me (hi Dave!) or random person to my other side says something about most of the SoBs? Wow, I didn't know I spoke for that many!
Yeah I gotta agree that stuff like this is a little different when it's 85+ degrees outside. Also, while reported attendance may be a full house, we all know that's far from the truth. Sometimes people don't have anyone within 3 seats of them
