Pretty unlucky result for Spurs, Everton didn’t exactly score off of great plays. Hope it doesn’t kill the team’s spirit to lose like that.
Its a team game and harry winks, as part of that team, lost it for them. Was a liability when he came on. Helped Everton score and gave up possession everytime he had it. It was like he was trying to lose.
I mean I agree that Winks was culpable for the last goal conceded, but from the 4 others that he wasn’t on for, one was poor keeping from Lloris, one was a fluke goal that went through a defenders legs and could (possibly) have been saved by Lloris, one was a nonexistent penalty, and then there was another due to poor communication between Sanchez/Alderweireld. I don’t think this was a game that Spurs deserved to lose, but that’s just my opinion.
I think it is. Although gundogan didn’t control it well, the contact was pretty reckless. Edit: Upon rewatching, probably not a pen and in fact a foul on Hojberg by Gundogan. Not sure why VAR didn't correct that.
If you watch the replay you can see Gundogan stepping on Hojberg before Hojberg makes contact on Gundogan. Should have been caught by VAR.
I miss how direct Son used to be. Seems like when he gets the ball out on the wing now he stalls/dawdles.
he's been poor since last season imo. he used to make some top saves but he's let in so many goals after getting a touch on it
He did make mistakes on occasion, but generally didn't have multiple ones in consecutive games like this.
i wish he'd run at defenders more. he rarely puts pressure on defenders by dribbling at them and forcing them to back-pedal
Exactly. When he first got to Tottenham, even though his finishing was inconsistent he would always be direct and dangerous. Usually leading to good results. Now seems content to not go at defenders as much.
