Lo Celso vs Bruno: https://www.fctables.com/giovani_lo_celso-vs-bruno_fernandes-243008-215669/ These numbers speak for themselves.
They play two different positions. Lo Celso is more box to box and Fernandes is an attacking threat. Which is why with Eriksen gone, Spurs attack is lacking creativity. Now the Spurs have a bunch of midfielders who can play in the middle (Lo Celso, Ndombele, Winks, Gedson, Sissoko) but not enough creative players to create scoring opportunities. Let's also not forget the lack of true DM as well. The Spurs have a bunch of "versatile" players who can be plugged anywhere in the midfield but not enough gamechangers who are world class at one particular skill.
They are both playing the same position. Just because Jose decided to play him deeper doesn't change anything. He was brought in to replace Eriksen. Miidfield center https://www.whoscored.com/Players/303908/Show/Giovani-Lo-Celso https://www.whoscored.com/Players/123761/Show/Bruno-Fernandes
Eriksen was one main reason why Spurs was punching above their weight. With him gone and Alli falling off, Spurs are pretty much where they should be on the table. If he's playing deeper than Eriksen, hes playing a different position and thus a role in their attack.
Great finish, Son loves scoring on David Luis. Good reply after poor defense leading to the Lacazette goal
Son has been incredibly hesitant on the ball when facing defenders since the restart. He neither takes them on nor looks for an advancing pass it's quite frustrating to watch
It's Mourinho and his stupid brain-dead offense. Same crap he pulled in Man U. https://www.goal.com/en/news/mourin...tenham-spurs-jenas/1ga2qicj413oi17x9ur3svh1ap
Agree... i wonder if its the Mourinho effect. The whole team is playing passive. No direct runs on the wings anymore. Nobody taking anyone on. Sons strength is running down the wing and then cutting inside for a shot or keep going along touch and putting in a cross. He's best when playing simple and direct. Now he's just walking around in the central of the final third.
it's either an instruction from mourinho or it's son being less confident (perhaps because he's not in top condition) aurier, davies, and moura are the only ones who look in mid-season condition to me.
What's incomprehensible is Mou playing Sissoko as a winger. Should replace him with Lamela, play him centrally and push up Mouse to play 4-3-3. But we are talking about Mou so that will never happen.
There is absolutely no link up play between midfield and Son/Kane. The lack of touches by Son and Kane is atrocious.
