as much as i want him to be more careful of his injury, you gotta love his mentality. this also boosts our morale.
I'd still recommend tempering our judgement until we receive an official statement from either Conte/Tottenham or the medical staff. But, judging from his IG post, it is roughly 90+% sure that he will be going to the WC. Honestly, he shouldn't have gotten hurt but life threw a curveball and it happened. I'm just glad that it was a facial injury rather than a leg injury since the latter would've been a game over, and it is a bit of a relief his injury occurred much earlier rather than later (eg Kwak Tae-hwi) as that too would've been a huge blow to us.
You need catch the subtle nuance. He seems to know that he won't play much in this WC. His saying like "even 1 percent" is not a good sign. He was operated 4 times on that day and that was why there was no update on his surgery until the night(local time). '4 fractures' means that his face is quite brittle. Not all 4 will heal at the same rate and the recovery time is dependent on the slowest healing part.
So many players getting their faces smashed in. Son, Endo, Gvardiol...and I am going to have a nose surgery (can't breathe well at night). I'll soon know how Son feels like.
Just picture yourself getting punched in the face really hard, or having a baseball thrown at you at your face. You getting a rhinoplasty huh?
two videos that show how is the state of his currently: 손흥민이 토트넘 홋스퍼 스타디움으로 돌아왔다! HEUNG-MIN SON IS BACK AT THE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM - YouTube FULL-TIME: Tottenham 4-3 Leeds: Happy Conte, Son Celebrates With His Team Mates: 팀원들과 축하하는 손흥민 - YouTube
You should be fine after the surgery, all that matters is that you'll be able to finally breathe/breathe properly.
A friend in college had that done...and he told me he woke up as they were breaking his nose and all he saw was the surgeon looking at someone while pointing down at him...
Did you guys see 유퀴즈 with his father? I knew they something was off at Leverkusen. His father clearly explained the manager did not trust Son.
Since the beginning of the season, he's been shit... He has never been in a bad form for this long before... Let's see how he does for the rest of the season.. I doubt he will start when Rich is back if he continues to perform like this tho
With this form, a move to a higher club might be disastrous for his career. They do not permit incompetency like Spurs do.
The worst mistake of Son's career was resigning that contract until 2025. All the signs were pointing toward him leaving.
Yeah, that was my wishful thinking it's just an injury... Yesterday, I've seen a video in Korean explaining it might be due to a change in tactics. Sadly, a "culprit" is my countryman Ivan Perišić. He likes to cross a lot, and plays on the same side as Son. And Son isn't one to benefit from crosses. I desperately want both to do well. Because it's an honor to have my favorite Croatia NT player, and the best Asian player- two incredible human beings at the same club. One of the relatively newer comments is mine.
Korean ppl love to blame on other things bc they believe theirs is always the best with no faults.. I want to believe in this as well but nah. He's been shit even in NT. He probably did affect his positioning so he has less chance to score but Perisic isn't the reason why Son's first touch has been terrible. Same goes for his ball possession.
I really want Son to recapture his form. For me, a footballer being a good person on top of having good skill matters more than simply being a good footballer. And Son is a good, normal human being, compared to Neymar, Ibrahimović... So, I'm hoping some tactical changes occur to help him. Like swapping Son and Perišić positionally, or moving Perišić to the right.
