IN DEMAND did not show any playoff matches this weekend

I have the In Demand Shootout package via my local Time Warner package here in Tampa.

I was pretty excited to see the MLS TV Listings page showing that all of the MLS playoff matches would be shown on In Demand this weekend.

Seems like we had worked our way through our problems with the shootout package on In Demand.

Lo and Behold, In Demand showed zero of the playoff packages this weekend.

I don't even get the blue screen with the schedule anymore .... just one of those pop up boxes on screen saying that it is pay per view.

    AGGGHHHH

    What was your experience?

    not true at all...

all games were televised by in-demand, i wached them via my local time warner.

if there was a problem it was your local time warner company that screwed up.

The blame must lie with the local cable company, not InDemand. I have Cox in Cleveland, and they had the KC v. LA game and the Colorado v. Dallas game, but not the Columbus v. S.J. game (which was the one I really cared about). College football was on all the other channels allocated to sports packages. Based on this and what the others are saying, it sounds like InDemand put all the games out there and each cable co. decided which ones, if any, to pick up.

did you check for the tape delayed broadcast at 11pm? all in-demand subscribers were given the game on a tape delay basis...

"Misplaced hatred" "fuming" ????? boy, some of u get mighty worked up on these things.

I have come to understand that as a soccer fan if it can go wrong, then it will. So it goes.

Yes, I checked across all channels and all time slots including the 11:00 PM. No joy.

No, a call at 8:00 PM to my local cable operator would have been worthless .... trust me, I have tried it before.

The information you have provided is invaluable. It was my local cable company and I will address on Monday.

    Love and kisses.

I didn't get them on Wednesday. I called Friday and walked them thru the whole programming situation.

We got all 3 games last night.

You have to call your cable company and raise holy heck. Call them before the games and when they say they have no idea what you're talking about, have all the info ready and give it to them.

    Act.

I went through 4 or five calls yesterday with our local TW...becasue the game ..even tape delayed at 11:00 didnot show up on my TV guide. So...you don't beleive it's happening.

I was told ABSOLUTELY the SJ/Crew game was live at 7:30...not tape dealyed.

What seems to have held up is always checking the mls.net site. They were correct on their times....there is a big problem with customrer service reps knowing what is happening. Bring back the pink memos!

So...if you didn't get any games...it is your local provider.

What he said wasn't wrong. Some In Demand customers DIDN'T get any matches this weekend.

Others, in a fashion not too atypical for here, told him to stuff it and it was his local cable company.

    Remarkably, now he knows!

    :O

You're right, but he didn't even bother to call the cable operator. Anyone with inDemand should know that it isn't going to be easy.

same thing happened to me with twnyc.

I just "bought" the games with my remote, figuing if it ever came up on the bill ($5.99 a game, i think) I could easily prove I had the package all season.

sucks if you tried to tape the games though, fer sure.

Only weird thing that happened with me is that the Chicago-NE game didn't show up on the menu at the right time. (It was listed 1 1/2 hours later than it actually was.) However, if I manually inputed 501 then it came up just fine.

It wasn't showing here, so I called. The local company was receiving the games but it wouldn't relay to my screen. They opened all the channels just so I could get the package. Nothing like a little soft-core during injuries timeouts.

Weird, I have TWNYC and didn't have to buy anything. I set the Tivo and went out and the games were there.

I had major problems during the last week of the regular season. I got the Friday match on the Shootout, but for some reason I had a black screen without the blue schedule screen on Saturday. I called my local office right before the first match started on Saturday and was told there was some sort of "box driver" problem and that it needs to be fixed.

The rep reset my box and told me I should have it within 15 minutes. I waited 20 minutes, but there was no resolution. I called again and was told this "problem" was serious and that they are working on it.

I checked the channel again when I figured the second half would end, and there was still nothing. I waited again 20 minutes or so later, checked the channel and got about four seconds of the match before it went to a black screen again.

I called the cable company again, this time the match had about 15 minutes left, and told them I was getting football on one channel, but that the rest of the sports PPV channels were black still. I was told there was nothing that could be done and that the problem would be fixed shortly. The San Jose match was on at 10pm, so they said they would call at 10 to see if it was on.

Well, at 10:15, there was no match still and no call from my scumbag cable company. I was on the phone with them for about 45 minutes. Somehow during that time I got set up for the final half of the SJ-LA match, but it didn't make me feel much better because I still missed 3/4 of the day's action and they wanted to come to my house to see if it was my equiptment when it was obvious from getting the match the day before that there was nothing wrong with my cable box or line.

On Sunday, I still had the bule screen on the channel that showed the SJ-LA match, but nothing on the other channels including the one that had the Chicago match. I didn't have the energy to complain anymore, so I let it go.

I know this is long, but here's how the situation resolved itself. When I was on the phone that Saturday night I insisted that I get some manner of credit. After some haggling, I got a credit for the equivalent of 20 matches. We settled on this because my cable company charged full price, but never got around to putting it into their system until after three weeks of games were available on InDemand. I also kept track of the number of matches I tried to watch, were scheduled according to the guide, but never appeared on TV.

I also had already written a letter to my cable company's GM about their service, when I got a resonse, I was refunded the full price of the MLS package. I also have not missed a playoff match on InDemand. I had to do a lot of complaining, but I did end up getting what I was supposed to get, and they gave me something, including a free month of service, for my trouble.

I may still switch to a dish, but it is true that you can get what you want if you complain to the right people. Oh, and as far as customers around the country that didn't get games recently via InDemand are concerned, you cable company screwed you, not InDemand. The games are there, but someone at your cable comapny needs to get on the ball. They may be too concerned that you get a few free minutes of a college football game you don't care about for free to give you what you paid for.

I couldn't get the game 1 LA/KC match. The sports ppv channel came up saying that the match was on, but the cable box said it didn't. I call the cable company, and they first confirmed that it was on. Then they look on the InDemand site, and it showed that it wasn't on in Lawrence, KS. The cable company told me that if it isn't on InDemand, the company can't do anything about it. All I want to hear is the logic behind this whole ordeal.

Oh well, I guess I just have to drive to KC for game 3.

If you had asked/called, and you didn't, you would know that calling my local cable operator in non business off hours regarding any matter soccer related has been historically non productive.

My mistake was to ask you guys if you had the same problem or if it was isolated to my local company while concurrently expressing my frustration.

Your mistake is to make to many assumptions and look foolish in the process (and to carry old grudges).

The information provided has been invaluable and I have used it today (even though my local cable operator is still in the dark on the matter no matter how many calls I place).

    Love and Kisses.

Dixie... you are right. If you call late, they are down to only a few operators and they don't keep up on any of this sort of thing.

I was told Sat. night that they can't bring up anything from the previous days business...but operators can do it the morning. Taht's the way it goes. They don't have the info...and with technology the way it is now, you 'd think they could find something...but they can't. Or they won't. And they don't care. I don't think it's their problem....the issue shouldn't be one to begin with.
