    Carl-Heinz-Rumor-Monger:

    Solskjaer being post-marked for Parkhead.

I first heard the rumor 3-4 months ago, when possible Henrik Larsson replacements were being compiled.

Since then, I've heard it from a few different sources, and it may does have some merrit.

If United are planning for Ronaldinho, and the "Beckham for Makele & Jeremy & some money" finally happens, then it might make sense.

If it means celtic can follow one strong goalscorer for another, and united picks up someone like ronaldinho, i'm all for it.

Is Larsson leaving Celtic? Or is this just planning for the future? I hadn't really heard anything, but then again I don't follow Scottish football as much as I should.

dunno. they might have to in order to get O'Neil to finally sign on the dotted line (i still have a suspicion he'll be going to Liverpool though).

Would also help your finances to win Uefa. (good luck btw).

"hadn't really heard anything"? it's hard to have missed.

I would have liked to see how Henrik fared in the EPL -

Any United supporter who says they would be happy to see Ole go should not be supporting United.

The way I understand it he signed a rolling contract with a 12 month notice period, im not sure about buy out clauses so ill leave that well alone, so if he doesnt sign and hasnt handed in his notice the deal just rolls on regardless for another 12 months, it could go on till the end of time theoretically.

Henrik is leaving when his contract expires at the end of this coming season, after 7 glorious years of service to the hoops, hes planning on going back to sweden but he might be tempted to play somewhere else, he might be a bit past it by then though, like when brian laudrup went to chelsea.
I would love him to stay and join the backroom staff but i think he wants to bring his son up in sweden.

What kind of cash would be needed? I doubt Ole's making too much as is. Would the issue then be the transfer fee? Nice thing about him is that you can play him up top or out wide in the mid.

The transfer fee would be the killer, larsson is on 40k a week so wages wouldnt really be a problem, but at the start of this season we had a deal arranged with athletico paranese for kleberson on loan for a year with a 4 million fee at the end if he worked out, for a world cup winner of 23 that is amazing, and the board didnt commit because of the fee.

    No. Way.

Ole has stuck by this club despite being relegated to his glorified "super-sub" status for years on end. He's refused talk about transfers to other clubs and has never (publically) complained about lack of playing time. And it's obvious by the results of his appearances that he's invaluable. Plays well on the wing, can score coming off the bench, can score when starting... why would you sell him? Just cause you can?

Who put the ball in the German's net?

    That's right, biotch.

Re: Re: Solskjaer to fill the Larsson void?

LOL. I remember hitting my head on the roof of the car when I heard it go in (had to pull over as well!)

The only other goal I remember having such a reaction to was when Giggs made his "run-like-a-gibbon" against Arsenal a few years back.
My jaw dropped, and was on the floor for such a long time that I still had carpet-aftertaste for a week.

I dont think anyone thinks that Ole wants a move - it would most likely be a sale it it ever happened.

Would SAF move him to make room for Kluivert? probably not - Forlan for one, would have to step aside (although, I still hold out hope that he will blossom).

but as I said - it's a transfer rumor that i've heard from several sources - however shady those sources may be :)

Theres no way Solskjaer would leave United. Solskjaer has had chances to go to better clubs than Celtic, and hasnt gone. He's been incredibly loyal to ManU, plus he's starting to get some more playing time. Fergie knows hes an excellent player and wont sell him to Celtic, especially with the pittance they would offer.

Given the lack of strikers, why would SAF sell off one of the three he's got? (Scholes doesn't count as a striker--he's a great attacking midfielder though.) I would be shocked to see Ole go, although IF he were to go I would rather see him out of the EPL. But I do not think they'd sell him, especially with all he's given to, and means to, the club.

Fine. I'll rephrase. Anybody who is fine with the idea of Ole leaving for Ronaldinho to come to United obviously has no clue of what Solskjaer means to the club and the supporters (an vice versa). Anybody who is fine with that because Ole will move to another club they like needs to sort out their priorities.

Maybe it's best that I rephrase as well in this situation - so that no one is left with a misunderstanding.

I know exactly what Ole means to the club. I love him just as much as anyone else. Ronaldinho was the first striker to come off the top of my head - i wouldn't rather have him than Ole at OT.

And in terms of 'having my priorities in order'... celtic is going to be in far worse straits without larsson that united would be without Ole. Celtic and United are 'my teams' (the two that consume literally all of my time outside school) so I don't think I'm too out of order. But I see where you're coming from.

    Cant see Ole leaving

Cant see Ole leaving OT except in a box! He obviously loves being at the club. Alot of United fans, maybe all, appreciate his uncomplaining service.

Larson for Ole? Cant see it myself. If Ole was to go you would need a top replacement. Hes more than a second strike, hes a winger, all round good egg (not a cheat as implied by Arse)and super sub.

Ole leaving would be a big loss because he is a player in his prime.

We may have to sell, but not Ole!
