According to various sorces Santiago Solari will be leaving Real Madrid in the summer and coming over to us.

Anyone reckon he will be a good signing for us? The last two Spanish Stars that came to play for us, De La Pena and Medieta, did not reach their full potential especialy for the price we paid for them.

He could however be the answer to our left hand side problems where we were left serverly lacking when Cesar was out, but i don't watch much of the Primera Liga as Serie A is normally on at the same time so anyone know much about the guy and wether he is any good?

I think this is a pretty good move to add a talented winger like Solari....but I have only seen him play a couple times.

with Fiore playing in the central role, Lazio will certainly need help on the flanks in the future.

Funny that adding a Spanish player comes up on the day where Cragnotti gets arrested, seeing as the huge waste of money on Mendieta is part of what created lazio's problem...

Guys, Solari is an Argie, if I recall correctly. Those have worked out pretty well for us, no? (With Veron out for the rest of the year, and Chelsea not needing him, I'd love to see him return to Rome.)

I've seen Solari play a bit, and I'd love to have him at Lazio. He's quite capable. Scores some very nice goals too, every once in a while. I think he hit one from an almost impossible angle a week or so back.

And yeah, Gaizka sucked our money and his career down the drain in Rome.

your right, I was just comparing Solari with Medieta in terms of players acquired from Spain...certainly Solari will cost 5% of what Medieta did.

Funny you mentioned Veron, I can see him being pushed out of Chelsea this summer and Lazio should keep tabs. That and an impact defender (who can actually run) and watchout...

As a Chelsea fan, I think it would benefit both sides. Lets face it, Chelsea don't need him, and he's not an EPL sort of player. He's built for SerieA. Get him back to Lazio, where he's said he wants to go.

Count me as another supporter who would love to see Veron at Lazio next year. But regarding Santiago, he has obviously been pushed out of los galacticos, and he is a very talented player. He is not a Spaniard (who just cannot be trusted to play in Serie A), and I think he will blend in with our team quickly.

Solari is a genuine talent. He has really grown at real, i hope italy doesn't stunt his growth.
that said, he could really use the minutes lazio can afford him.

who is replace stankovic hes the key

Well, Fiore has moved into stankovic's central role behind the strikers with great effect. Stefano isnt as good an all-around midfielder but is probably better in the quick one-touch game and certainly finishing.

Veron likely would never take the lower wages Lazio is now paying...

That remains to be seen. He's clearly unhappy in the EPL. I think he might fancy getting the opportunity to revive his career at Lazio.

As for Solari - at this point I welcome almost any addition we can get. Hell, even Pudgy Sergio got some runouts this year.

    From London to Oz...
While I'm not a fan of Lazio or Real Madrid, I do agree that Solari is better off elsewhere. I also agree that Veron is not a player suited to the style of the Premiership, and a transfer 'home' would definitely revive his career, and hey ... Lazio might win the Scudetto if he and Solari returned.

    Intermission.
