Is it a good idea to wear soft ground cleats on field turf? My school installed the turf last year and I'm debating if I should purchase a pair of SG or FG cleats. I always see the EPL players wearing SG due to their extremely rice soft grassed pitches. Are SG made only for SG grass or what? What do you think I should do?

And are SG cleats good cleats to purchase. The removing of cleats is beneficial to the shoe or what? I figure it's better to buy SG shoes but traction doesn't look that good compared to a FG boot. What does a SG boot give is it better, should I purchase a pair of FG or SG.

I'm leaning toward Nike Total 90 II SG, any other suggestions?

Id say get HG boots. SG is for rainy days or really thick grass.THe exchanable studs are cool cuz u can adjust to the size u like. I own a pair of each. HG SG and FG for each type of playing feild. ANyway I just played on turf last thursday in my HG F-50's. I think im one of the few who didnt slip.

Yea mate, you should'nt really wear SG boots on turn. It'll do you feet in.
I would'nt go for SG AZT90 II either, especially if you play on hard ground, as the studs are irremoveable, and i've found thta the metal caps tend to fall off after use on HG.
If you are going to get a pair of SG boots, then I would suggest either the new Pulses, F-50's, or the Nike Vapors, as with both you can replace the studs, and change the size for different turf conditions.
I'm not sure whether the new AZT90III have removeable studs on the SG version. If they do, then they ought to come into the eqaution aswell.

yeah i would go for zoom air total 90 II in fg. soft ground boots woren on hard or firm ground surfaces almost always will hurt your feet. i also had the experiance of the metal caps on my air zoom total 90 sg fall off and after that the boots are useless so i would go for the fg for sure.
