I am looking for a good pair of socks that has the foot-area durability of the Adidas socks, but the stay-up power of some of the generic ones I have. I have NEVER found anything that has both. Recently I found Adidas Copa socks, in white (which I love) and they are a LITTLE better on the not falling down part, but not perfect. What do the pros wear? You rarely see them pulling up their socks. Their socks always look really thin, and super tight. What's their secret?
No secret it's just the get specially made socks for themselves instead of the stuff which goes on sale to the public.
Damn. I really like the West Ham socks from last year, with just the hammer logo on the front. I have been scouring the web for them for months, and no luck at all. double damn!
I forgot my socks for practice once so i went to the store and picked a pair that i thought i would throw away real quick but i still have them and they are real thin and stay up real good i dont know who makes them but they are called under armor and i havent been able to find them scence then. -justin
Why dont you use sock ties? Thats what most pros use. Mine are just a basic bandage that you can get from most chemists cut into strips. I pull my sock right up. Tie it around by my knee and pull the top of the sock down as normal. This holds it up tight during the game and they dont fall down. Nike make sock ties too. They elasticated with a velcro fastening. But the bandage does the trick just as well and thats what most pros use. I know these ones are Manchester United ones. But these are the ones that are made by Nike : http://www.kitbag.com/stores/kitbag_4_5/football/product_details.aspx?pid=10135&cid=1921&tid= Hope that helps. That way you can wear whatever socks you want and they wont fall down appleCORR
For me, I just use some of the under armour socks, they are thin, soft, and never fall down. I bought all different colors too.
Don't ya think white socks are just classier than any others? I Always wear the Home West Ham socks i have like 11 pairs and just stick electricians insulation tape to hold em up. Simple cheap but works
I never have trouble with socks coming down, but then, I wear big shin pads which probably keep them up. If you want durability, make sure the sock you get have a very low amount of cotton (or zero amount) and make sure your shoes fit correctly (sliding will wear out socks quickly, and give you blisters besides). I like the new Nike socks (the one with the wierd wrap-around white bit).
