I really wonder where he will go. Probably a 2nd or 3rd division team in the french league

He'll go either to another French team - League One, bottom - or to somewhere in the Netherlands or Belgium.

Good thing you didn't put a question mark in the subject line, so people wouldn't come into the thread expecting YOU to provide the update....

    :D

As for the update, he watched Godfather I and II but made a wise decision to lay off of the last one:
    It is Charlie, it is...

Godfather III did suck. I mean, the whole kissing cousins thing was just creepy and if you're gonna tap your cousin, she should at least be really hot and Sofio Coppola doesn't qualify as such. Also, she ain't that good an actress.

That said, the movie did give us one very memorable quote:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPw-3e_pzqU"]YouTube - Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in.[/ame]

Oh, and good to hear Charlie is ready to go on loan. That's a good step back on the road to full recovery.

Good line, even if I say so myself.

    But a really sucky movie.

Give Sochaux a lot of credit. They have stuck with Charlie and they have acted very responsibly. Of course, they have a financial interest in seeing him through, but they have not tried to rush him back.

It is hard for people to appreciate just how serious his injuries were. Charlie Davies has made a tremendous recovery. It is a miracle that he is playing professional soccer at any level.

Be patient, Charlie. Hang in there!

Provided that such a thing is even possible.

Well, tbf, Sochaux is helped out a lot by being 7th in the table and having Ideye and Maiga scoring plenty of goals for them.

Third best goal differential in Ligue 1 (this week). Three points from being tied for second.

Anybody who follows Ligue 1 closely have an opinion on Sochaux's chances at Europa or Champions League qualification?

Increased revenue plus more matches next season makes Charlie more likely to stay, right?

I hope the goal was classic CD9 and not another penalty, either way its good news he went 90 and put one in.

Seems like Charlie scored the equalizer following a corner.

Was it a reserve game? Do those get played on Saturdays?

I don't know that much about it. It was a reserve match, and I believe they were actually playing Neuchatel's reserves, so not even another French team.

It was a friendly ('match amical') for the reserve team, against the reserves of Neuchatel Xamax.

Sounds like CD put in a rebound off a corner.

More or less, yes. They don't go into any detail, but it seems like an opposing defender cleared the ball to Charlie who was able to score the match winner about 15 minutes from time.
