"His performances in speed drills placed him among the last three of Sochaux's 28 pros in July. He now ranks among the squad's top eight performers."

But sochaux's fitness trainer says he isnt fit? Regardless, his recovery has been nothing short of spectacular. Davies will be back soon

    Extended Interview with Charlie Davies

Fourteen topics, a hundred questions, and he has to answer three quarters of them. Charlie participated with pleasure in the game of the extended interview. The first part of his responses is now available.

    Career

    1. Can you give the full name of your first club?
The Derry Hawks. I started with them at the age of 6.
    2. Which club will you never agree to play for?
AIK Stockholm, in Sweden. After having played for Hammarby, I can't wear the AIK shirt because of the rivalry between the clubs.
    3. For which club would you agree to play for free?
    Arsenal!
    4. Question not answered
    5. What's the most exotic or unexpected country that you had an offer to play in?
    Croatia.
    6. What manager would you agree to follow to any club?
    Arsene Wenger.

    Media Exposure
    7. Do you remember giving your first autograph?
It was during the Milk Cup, a tournament in Northern Ireland with the US U-17 team.
    8. Was your first interview a disaster?
Looking back on it, yes! It was during that same tournament. I was so excited to be interviewed on Sky Sports that I just said whatever came into my head. I never even thought about what I was going to say.
    9. Do you try to play around with expressions during interviews?
    I try to be original...
    10. Do you actually listen to the journalist's question during a halftime interview?
    Yeah!
    11. Do you remember the first time you were on a television program?
It was during the same tournament in Northern Ireland.
    12. Who have you been confused with when people have asked for an autograph?
In Korea, people thought I was Freddy Adu. It was actually a compliment at the time, because people really thought he was the next Pele.
    13. Question not answered.
    14. Who would you not like to be confused with?
Rino Gattuso, because he's mean on the pitch!

Me thinks the club want to bust his balls a little for what he said before.

Plus, they don't really need him at the moment.

    Their offense is good enough.

Well, I'd wager CD9 at his best is better than the top 8 in quickness at the club. When/if I start seeing him in top 5/top 3, then he'll be ready.

Translation/Paraphrasing: Gillot says that Charlie played in the CFA this weekend, that he's progressing but that he's not up to Ligue 1 level just yet. They may look to loan him out during the winter window in order to get him regular playing time for the second half of the season.

ya, that killer MLS schedule from January through March.

In any case, Sochaux is having a tremendous season so far, leading in goals scored (oops, second now ... sorry, Lille, you da men ... eh, monsieurs) and seventh in points ATM.

    Davies should be loaned out.

PS. Really, MLS? Has any French league player ever been loaned to MLS?

    In the winter?

This is just an odd proposition.

    This.

As long as it's higher than French 4th level, it's an improvement.
