They'll likely advance regardless, given they will have a better gd than Hungary and one of the other groups is bound to have a team with less than 3 points or with 3 points but a worse gd.

If I read the possibilities correctly, if they finish 3rd and advance they would play either the winner of Group E (Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine) or Portugal. Thus, they would still have a very good chance of advancing to the quarterfinals.

The US economy is growing so much faster than the EU economy, that Europeans may not be able to afford coming to the USA by 2026. :whistling:

I thought of that, too, but my mind said that top color was orange, not red.

I suppose Germany is another, as their jerseys are typically white

I saw an article about that yesterday or the day before, but I just kind of skimmed over it. Prussian flag history, basically.

As a primary? I don't think so, at least not OTTOMH. Maybe back in the Ricky Davis days, but I don't remember anything recent as a primary. That hideous '94 shirt had a grey tint to it. More like blue denim.

That said, I still kind of see white as a neutral color, like a canvas to which color is added. Any country could wear it. I know I shouldn't see it as neutral where cloth is concerned. I think that stems from years of drawing on white paper and not always having to color in those parts that were supposed to be white.

    Lalas again...

Is there any evidence that football was invented by or for children? It's the kind of shit nobody ever says about stage actors or dance troupes, but pure athletic competition is always up for disrespect.

No, they aren't "getting paid millions to play a children's game", Alexi. Stop twisting it. The correct phrase is, "Children all over the ********ing world go outdoors and do a piss-poor imitation of the professional greats at their jobs, but some of those children become good enough as adults to earn the wealth the sport provides for those who can lead their clubs and nations to victory".

I’ve heard two different stories on that. One is that some cultures find bare chested men offensive or insulting. The other is that FIFA wanted to discourage political slogans. Anyone know which story is true?
