Too many own goals are unfortunate situations. That one was glorious. It's a shame we didn't really get to see it live, given the broadcast had already focused the camera elsewhere as they were expecting a routine play to happen.

 

It was a trainwreck in slow motion, but I don't know that I'd call it glorious. I felt badly for the Turks. They were already kind of overmatched talentwise. I wouldn't be watching this game except that the British guy on TV who said yesterday, "Turkiy-eh, as we're now supposed to call them..." kind of reminded me that colonial powers rarely surrender their arrogance. Yes, you're supposed to call them what they ask you to call them.

 

But the cameras did catch Ronaldo being a whiny bitch before they got lucky.

 

Except it did interfere with my holiday plans

As a human being? Never wasn't okay with her. As some sort of positive representative for young Black women? Of course not.
