Posted this in the racism thread. Glad I caught this live. Stuff like this needs to be repeated over and over and over because there are a lot of people in this country who don’t think anything bad happened at all.

 

They are super easy to make too. If you are hosting a dinner for 6-8 people in the winter (so a BBQ is not a great option) and don't have much time to prepare, just do raclette. Nobody will be stuck in the kitchen while everyone else is having fun. You don't even need to factor in who is vegetarian. On top of that, its a memorable meal for the guests.

Only works in winter though.

There was a Christian Universalist college in my hometown that, alas, didn't make it past the great depression. Man, I would have really fit in if it had made it to my day! My ability to tackle from behind and still get the ball (legal in those days, if you got the ball at some point in the tackle) would have been just what they wanted.

 

I found Alexi commenting on Carli Lloyd's physical appearance yesterday a bit "old-fashioned". He told her that she was looking good, especially in regards to her pregnancy. I haven't heard him tell Stu Holden how good he's looking

Today I learned this year's Olympic surfing competition will be held in Tahiti. While the plan for 2028 (LA) Olympic softball events will be held in Oklahoma City. I know not all events are held in the city named to host but I can't think of any previous events being held so far away.

 

It's basically impossible to get further away from Paris than Tahiti, unless they were having events in New Zealand.

I attended the USA-France women's soccer game in the London Olympics in Glasgow, Scotland.

 

Oslo olympic sailing was held in Australia IIRC

I just went and googled her and although she retired early from the circuit, she's still in great shape and performing. I would have watched her if she had no talent!

Ps...having Italian roots was a plus!

 

It is taking 3 weeks right into summer to widdle the field from 2 teams to 1, and there were thousands of regular season games before that, but we could be on the verge of a legit big game in the NHL.
